SFFWorld Members big Blog thread

For a year and a half, I was putting up a backlist story on my website for a free read and sending the people on my newsletter mailing list a link. Two months ago, I changed the procedure and put the stories on a site called Curious Fictions. Because they're on that site instead of my web page, they're staying up longer than one month. Now I'm adding something different: I'm posting stories that previously were available for only a month and leaving them up. Today I posted "Greeves and the Evening Star," a P.G. Wodehouse pastiche (with the names changed) that first appeared in the anthology OLD VENUS, co-edited by George R.R. Martin and Gardner Dozois. It was in my newsletter six months ago. I'll post other stories as time goes by.

Old stories, new words, some waffle on where my new release, THE GREEN AND THE BLACK, came from

These are interesting, bleak posts, @Stephen Palmer.

The more I read and think about online technology, the more I think we've created something just that bit too dangerous. But it's also the political/economic environment that we in the West live in. On Sunday I'll post a review of the book I've been reading recently, and next week I'll post a piece about the internet in the East and West.

Well, I was glad to see the faintest glimmer of a positive element in this last of the five: reading books, particularly (maybe) fiction, as an invaluable empathetic stronghold against the traumatic encroachment of online-bred epidemics. I look forward to reading your thoughts on The Cyber Effect.
