Song Of The Day

Erykah Badu, Bag Lady from the cd of the same name.

Melinda from American Idol should sing this song. A change of pace from the boring s**t she's been singing.

Devil Running - John Butler Trio, from his brilliant new album, Grand National.

Sarah - Declan O'Rourke

'... hold on with your heart, now Sarah, for mine will remember you forever...'

This song gets me close to tears on occasion and ALWAYS, raises goosebumps.

That's an excellent song. I listen to him often now that you turned me on to him.

Bright Eyes, Classic Cars from Cassadaga. Great song. Very good cd.

I believe that would be the O'Jays

They smile in your face
all the time they wanna take your place
backstabbers

Laura Nyro, Triple Goddess Twilight

I was a sweet baby in my mother’s arms, we were strolling through the park.
Picnic, peace walk, progress.
Just a baby in her arms, my politics are based on her charms.

Triple Goddess Twilight, slow down. Feel the land, violet everywhere, I’ll meet you there.
Mother, you died young and left me. Your twilight colors, rose, ah, burgundy, coral mist.
What are the shades of loneliness?

Triple Goddess Twilight, late sky violet and pink.
All roads lead to Venus. I’ll meet you there in your dream of progress.

My grandfather painted houses on a ladder in the sky.
He was working class, urbane, streetwise.
Said, “We can change the world, girl, love will inspire.”
Told me this through whiskey and revolutionary fire.

Triple Goddess Twilight, last trace of ruby and flame. First star leads to Venus.

He left a war to talk in peace now. Sad life was for our dream, our dream of progress.

"Mr. Zebra" by Tori Amos.

Having recently watched "Racing Stripes", I was sucked in after the first line. By all seven gods, how nice a lure that was. That I just finished a unit with my 4th grade class about zebras and other animals only accented the song.

I picked up some dual disc compilation of Tori Amos the other day in Suzhou, a sweet town boasting more sweet gardens than Windsor Castle. Though, I must confess, Bia and I lost interest early the second day, so kicked back buying DVD's.

By, god, have I missed this place. It's a nice place to get a healthy dose of writing and music listening. Sorry all for the tangent. Gotta get back to those three goddesses Laura Nyro wrote about.

Tori is amazing. Some great lyrics, great melodies. I listened to I Don't Like Mondays right after the Virginia Tech massacre. It was sad.

Her song Mother is pretty intense too.

Not sure about the new cd though...
