Song Of The Day

Cat Power, The Greatest from The Greatest.

Funny how so many of the songs you guys list are favorites of mine, or they become favorites of mine after I listen to them. In many respects, we're on similar wavelengths.

Pavement. The cd is Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain and the song is (one of many I could have picked!) Elevate Me Later.

Classical day again.

The overture from The Magic Flute by Mozart. I saw the opera in York a few years ago and was blown away. Wonderful stuff.

Ocean - John Butler Trio

One of the best guitar instrumentals I have ever heard. The guy is a virtuoso.

Molton Gold - Paul Kossof, with vocals by Paul Rogers (no surprise there!), my favorite singer of all time... even above Jeff Buckley.

David Ford, A Long Time Ago, from I Sincerely Apologize For All The Trouble I've Caused.

Great cd title.

I'm gonna nominate Bernard Fanning's wonderful SONGBIRD again... as a live, acoustic version is now available on his MySpace profile... check it out. Wonderful song and for some reason it reminds me of the Firefly theme tune... must be the fiddle player.

And for me it's SHip My Body Home by Ben Lee.

(I just got back from Las Vegas so it seemed appropriate)

I hope you and Cathy were taking it easy on the call girls this time Gary... we don't want the rumour mill going nuts again!

Yea... wasn't that gossip mag accusing you of being the high-profile fashion financier with a taste for the ladies... and a wife who liked to join in?

In honour of the Wassners... song of the day is Temple of the Dog - Mother Love Bone.

I loved this lyric... imagine fcuking up so much that you aren't just in the dog house, you're in the temple of the dog!

Thanks Justin. I'm honored.

For me it's Jackson Browne, one of the most underrated artists around. I saw him at Madison Square Garden about two years ago. He was the opening act for Tom Petty. Most people, even though they knew Petty well, didn't pay any attention to Jackson Browne. I felt bad for him. I've always admired his mix of rock and folk. He tells stories and yet his melodies linger too.

The Naked Ride Home from the cd of the same name.
