Stuck on a desert island, what book do you bring?

FC: Perdido Street Station was released in trade paperback (hardcover sized but paperback) here in the US I think cover price of $20.

I have heard nothing but good things about it--the book just beat out, among others, Ash by Mary Gentle for the Arthur C. Clarke Prize for best SF published in UK.
 
Well, i buy books in mass market paperback, so guess i will have to wait more.
 
Strangely, although it Perdido Street Station hasn't been out in paperback yet in the US and i think not in the UK either, i found it here in israel in paperback.
So now it stands on my self and waiting for me.
I like such surprises.
 
I really like the idea of bringing along the collected works of Robert Jordan, as toilet paper would be a scarce commodity on a desert island.

Or I might possibly bring Martin, because all of his characters would have lives far worse than my own.

However, I think I'd bring a book titled, "500 Things You'll Need If You're Ever Stranded on a Desert Island". The irony would kill me.

Definitely Lord of the Rings.

I have decided that if I were stranded on a desert island, I would want the book Mass Marketing for Beginners. I think that the book would serve me no use at all, and I have no want to go into mass marketing, therefore this book would make the best fire starter out there. Well, it is off to work now, so bye.

The Necronomicon is a fictious book that appears quite often in horror. It's most famous from the works of H.P. Lovecraft, but appears in other books and movies too.

At least in Lovecraft's work reading it drives you mad.
