Sword of Shannara

A lad in my form bought SOS and recommended it to me as i'm a bibliophile!!! I never read anything other than fantasy (which MUST be a bad thing) and.. well he says its good! but could someone give me an outline of the plot? I've got it on my shelf but i dont know if i can be bothered reading it.. Currently its at the bottom of my five-feet tall to-read pile:o

SoS is for "young adults" apparently, basically it's a kids book. Couldn't get past 200 pages.

Get GRRM's A Song Of Ice And Fire series.

Beats all.

I have to say SOS was the book that got me into the fantasy genre. I loved every minute of it but then again I was 12!;) I can't get into his books now that I have read some of the greats.

GRRM- George RR Martin of course, my personal favourite

start with Clash Of Kings, first in the ASoIaF series.

also, try Robin Hobb's Assasin's Apprentice, which is also magnificent.

So there isn't too much confusion, book one of Martin's series is A Game of Thrones.

I saw Assasin Apprentice in a bookshop but i didn't pick it up. Clash of Kings also sounds good. Hope they are both in Waterstones on Sunday

lol sorry i'm an idiot, Clash of Kings is the second in the series, you should get Game of Thrones..

*blames it on lack of sleep and being overworked*

It's an amazing series Blacknarcissa, we are all none to paniently awaiting the last book. You won't be dissapointed once you read it.;)
