Tales of the Ketty Jay by Chris Wooding

No news on this yet, I'm afraid. It's up to Spectra. Will let you know when I do. Meantime, there's always Bookdepository.com...

I read it a couple of weeks ago and it was one of the best page-turners I've read in quite a while.

Have now ordered all three Ketty Jay books from BD!

Yeah I have a feeling I'm gonna dig this series, and from what I hear each book is better then the last.

Chris posted a small update on his site about book 4, which is titled The Ace of Skulls (I don't think we knew that yet). Hopes to have it done by the end of the year for a fall 2013 publication date. Looking forward to it already. :)

Another update from Chris on his website. Apparently The Ace of Skulls will be the last in the series. :(

But at least it seems to be going well. Chris, any idea when we can expect it to be published? I think Chris still comes around here once in awhile...

I can respect an author who can say stop, and doesn't try to milk a succesful story for 20+ books. Still, if somewhere in the future there's a comeback to Ketty Jay universe for new adventures beyond Ace of Skulls, I'll be interested to check them out.

And good luck with self publishing !

Thanks! The Ace Of Skulls is pencilled in for October next year, but I plan to deliver it by the end of the year so it might be earlier, Gollancz publishing schedule allowing.

I think he should go ahead and milk it for 25-30 books, cool books, he'd get away with it. lol

Yeah whats Wheel of Time, 22 years and 15 books later? Now thats a good milk job. Moo!!!

The idea of writing 15 books in any series makes me want to lean the tip of a samurai sword against my breastbone and gently sink onto it to the tune of Enya's 'Orinoco Flow'. After which a dove will escape my hands and fly in slo-mo into a rainy sky.

So is this a yes?

Was on the fence, but I just now decided to read "Retribution Falls."

Sail away sail away sail away... hopefully we see more books.

Jim Butcher is planning twenty plus Dresden Files novels, and frankly I could not be more delighted :D. I've really enjoyed the Ketty Jay novels, but if it feels right to Chris to finish then thats all well and good, satisfying to complete a series, as long as he moves onto something else just as awesome ;).

I agree Ornery Wyvern. I very much respect Chris Wooding for ending the series where he wants. At the same time, some of my favorite authors, like Butcher and Michelle West, are writing series that will finish with more than twenty books. I'm glad that there's room for tales of differing lengths. As long as authors get to tell the entire tale, it's a good thing.

Chris - as you are an occasional poster here and may see this...

I picked up the first of the Ketty Jay books following the thread on here where they were the read of the month or whatever.

Have now read all three, and they have been wholeheartedly recommended to several friends who are also now enjoying them. So first off thanks to this place for turning me onto the series in the first instance, and also cheers for three cracking stories - and looking forward to the fourth.

Just finished The Iron Jackal , for me it's the best in the series and likely the most enjoyable book I will read this year.

Cannot wait for the Ace of Skulls, sad the series is ending but I can see why you want to tie it up at 4 books. One question though, is this the last we will see of the Ketty Jay universe , or is there a chance you may return to it in the future ?
