Part of a fantasy , I think trilogy that I read only part of at least 5 or 6 years ago...

...most vivid detail I remember is a secondary character, the daughter of a lord that lead a double life, as a court lady and also as an assassin? She had long red hair and I think may have been called the dark/black rose... In one scene she drops dramatically or jumps from a balcony?

Thanks :)

What exactly are you asking? It seems you know the title of the book if it is The Black Rose.

Maye I'm missing something - or was a bit unclear - but the only books that turn up when I search for the title "The Black Rose" are a Nora Roberts book ( not it) a novel about first black female millionaire in America (sounds interesting but not it) and a couple of historical books and romance novels.

The title of the book isn't the Black Rose, it's a nickname for one of the characters in the story.

Thanks for reading, I hope this clarifies my question.

That sounds like a scene from
The Fionavar Tapestry by Guy Gavriel Kay (I'm not sure which book)

The southern princess was know as some type of rose.
