Can the Dosadi Experiment be read as a stand alone novel. I read Whipping Star a long time ago and don't feel like re-reading it at this point.

I finished it last week. Have to say I only half enjoyed it. I thought the premise was good but it didn't pan out the way I'd imagined. I enjoyed the flow of the action in the story, but I think it could have done with a bit more explanation or filling-out in places. The reasoning behind Pcharky's position and ability passed me by, and I thought the whole courtroom drama at the end was a bit of a let down as an ending.
