Just before giving in to despair, he crosses paths with a wizard and a sailor boy that set him on a course to atonement.
An aristocratic cavalry officer is the lone survivor of a battle with the strange and powerful weaponry brought by the foreign invaders. When the army’s leader falls, she reluctantly accepts the rank of supreme commander. But her new status comes with the obligation to put the king’s word before the lives of the brave souls who would spill their blood on the battlefield beside her, and she struggles with her loyalty to the kingdom as the battle rages on.
A plot to usurp the throne unfolds as shadowy organizations vie for power, and a sinister force hides in plain sight, deceiving the masses and manipulating the king for its own nefarious purpose.
The heroes of this generation inherit the knowledge of their ancestors to witness what lies beneath the shroud of centuries of falsehoods at the heart of the conflict which threatens to bring the world to annihilation. But when the lost secrets are revealed, will they be able to sacrifice what must be left behind in the darkness of deception to take the final steps into the light of truth?
