The Thousandfold Thought (NON-SPOILER THREAD)

These books have been truley a journey like I never have experienced before.
I am looking most devently forwards to read the next and last installment of this saga.

I haven't scoured the place looking for it but: Scott, do you have an official release date on TTT? Amazon had it listed as Jan 19 then pushed it back to Feb 2. Are those just Amazon making junk up? What's the scoop?

Scott, I must say my buddy Saintjon was going ape s**t that you mentioned him in the acknowledgements; he was pretty pumped up, lol. Unfortunately he can’t be online to tell you himself due to working like an ANIMAL. You know how it goes. :D But ya, he wanted me to thank you, give you mad props etc. Cheers.

And ya, he's lovin the book, haaard!

So, anyone know if this is out yet? The Border's Books website says January sometime, while Amazon says Febuary 2nd now...so I have no clue which to believe.

Well I stopped in at my local bookstore, Mostly Books, and there on the shelf were a couple of copies of The Thousandfold Thought, needless to say there is only one left there now! :D

I ordered mine from Amazon and I'm still waiting, dag nab it! :(

I'll, of course, post when I've got the book in my hot little hands.

Okay, so now I'm lucky enough to be able to post, I cannot thank Scott enough! That's so awesome that you'd put us all in the acknowledgements, I'm about a third into the book, the Appendix in this one is glorious and I'm loving how the story is completely different from what people were speculating thus far.

umm... so it seems this book is out... i dont know what the deal is. i've been to all the bookstores in my city and all of them say the same thing. they dont have the book yet and their computers all claim that the book hasn't been published yet. when exactly did this book get officially released? man i want it soo bad.

Well, it depends on where you live. It seems like Canada are the only ones who have this so far. Amazon.us said that it was a Jan 19 release, but now they say Feb 2, but I'm not too optimistic about that, either. UK is slated for mid-year.

alright... ya i live in the U.S. where according to barnes and noble/borders/hastings and my local bookstore it hasn't been published yet. if someone knows a definite release date that would be awesome. ill guess ill go look for it on the 2nd probably.

i lost patience an ordered it online. i should be getting it today, i hope. the book stores around where i live were clueless.

You ordered it from Canada, painbird?

Well I finished reading TFT last night and I have to say that it is one of the best endings ever in any fantasy I have read, and I read a lot. I will not say why or anything else, for now, I don't want to spoil it for anyone. But rest assured you too should love the ending book in this very unique story.

Just started a David Gemmell book, Ravenheart, and its the perfect story after such a "meaty" offering from Mr. Bakker. I love Gemmell's works because they are just the best out there in heroic fantasy, well one of the best and the reader is able to just fall through the pages with little effort.

PS: For those struggling to find this book its been released in Canada where I live.

So, has anyone discerned an American release date yet? First it was possible it might recieve similtaneous launches in the UK and America on December 9th, then both pushed back to January 2 or so, then just the American version pushed back to the 6th--then to the 16th, 19th, and now MAYBE Febuary 2nd.

I've checked Borders stores and online website, but all it says is "January 2006" and says I can preorder it. I've checked Amazon.com, and they say Febuary 2nd--though I'm not sure if I trust them. I've checked the Overlook Press website (Scott's publisher's in the US) and they don't even mention the Thousandfold Thought....yet there's been reports on The Three Seas forums of people in the US having copies and certain places releasing them early.

So, I ask you fellow people of the forums: does anyone know what is going on?

Wait--I should just e-mail Overlook Press! I think I'll try that.

Scott's main publisher is his home base -- Canada, and a lot of Americans who have the book are probably getting the Canadian version. If you can't wait for Amazon, you could try Amazon.ca. But, buying the Overlook version would help Scott out, I expect. If it's not on the Overlook listings, I'd be guessing March.

The people in the thread that I mentioned said that it was released in New York, or some stores, and had actually walked into a Border's and found it out--apparently put out a few days early by mistake, or just for the heck of it. So, I'm guessing it's just that Border's main website is outdated/a mistake was made when that was entered. I'm guessing that it's either out already officially, or that Amazon is correct in their release date: with the later, I've just checked and they're still saying the 2nd of Febuary--so it's more likely that they're correct if they haven't bumped back the date by now.

Could it have been imports? Did they mention what edition they've got?

Over at another forum I visit I heard it straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak. Mr. Bakker posted that TTT would be released in the US on Groundhog Day, which is February 2nd.
