Also did Ep. 1. It was just so bizarre, not even sure what I thought of it. Whoever thought, lets do an alternate universe spider man, but make it a Dick Tracy kind of thing, with Cage??? It was certainly different and not boring.

Random thought: he doesn't seem very physically fit, gets his butt whooped and gets winded. Don't you at least need some heightened strength or agility for web slinging?

P.S. I picked color too. Just not feeling black and white these days.

Edit: Picked up in Episode 2, seemed to flow better.

Due to a super Memorial Day sale, I have found myself with AMC+ for a year. I ran across The Terror: The Devil in Silver which is based on the novel by Victor LaValle. It’s a limited series, which seems to be the case with each season of The Terror. It’s certainly suspenseful, and may or may not be supernatural horror. I say it may not be as it could be that everyone is insane instead. Regardless, it’s a pretty good adaptation of the novel.

Edit: This was good. Russians all speak with a mix of British accents, which is a bit jarring at first. It would have been silly if they all spoke with fake Russian accents though, and making it in Russian with subtitles would be impractical and lose viewers.

I was thinking the same as I watched it! (Personally would have preferred Russian with english subs)

I really enjoyed it: Rhys Ifans and Anna Maxwell Martin knock it out of the park! Really looking forward to see how this one develops. Agree about the accents, though.

Also watched the last episode of For All Mankind. Really good, although I think the series was starting to repeat itself a little and it felt a little bloated in this season. The last few minutes are awesome, though.
 
Done with "The Boroughs". Liked it although I found the ending a bit weak if am honest...started watching Start City as well and I am enjoying it so far. It bumped a little at the beginning the fact that they all speak in perfect English...of course we are to understand its "Russian" but only for us to be able to follow however, it does take a little of the authenticity in my opinion. I guess the question is, how could've they done it otherwise? Maybe just speak English with Russian accent?...That would've probably felt a bit silly as well. Truthfully the only authentic path to keep it real is if it was in Russian, with Russian actors, and subtitles, but then, it wouldn't be American/British production I guess....just thinking out loud :)

The latest series of Interview With the Vampire has begun streaming on AMC+. It’s The Vampire Lestat and yes, he’s a rock star. This is a very different season, and it’s over the top. New episodes drop on Sunday.

This series is on my list to watch. Really must get to it.

Here I've tried the new Amazon Prime first episode of Ghost in the Shell. Cleverly manages old-school animation style but with modern animation techniques. Very pleasing. Only 24 minutes, but really liked it.

 
I finished watching S11 of Walking Dead a few weeks ago. I thought the last couple of series were amongst the very best of the whole run and the ending was pretty excellent.

Overall, the series was a compelling ride and I was never bored, but I don't take TV seriously and was very willing to overlook the plot holes, dead ends, irregularities, sudden unexplained character-disappearances, and illogical deaths.

My favourite character was - and I almost hate myself for saying this - probably Negan. He was just the most reliably interesting and often unpredictable to watch, never a dull moment, although I wasn't a fan of his macho schtick. I also loved Rick, Glenn, Father Gabriel and, especially, Tara, who was just so funny and yet totally underused. I never warmed to Michone, who I found very prone to schmaltz.

Was it as good as Lost? Hard to say. They're very similar but overall Lost had a more compelling arc of discovery. Maybe WD had the better characters in the end, and certainly better character development.

I watched some of Fear the Walking Dead which I found refreshing as it showed the zombie apocalypse from a different perspective and with mostly entirely new characters in a different setting. After watching the main show for so many seasons, it was good to have a change.

The spin off you might like is Walking Dead: Dead City which features a reformed Negan and Maggie Rhee in New York City on a mission. I haven’t watched this particular one.

If you liked Daryl Dixon, there’s a couple of seasons so far of him and Carol in Europe…
 
Just started Pluribus, but kind of binging it hard. Its well done. The premise is a bit weird, but they seem to be really respecting it and building a show around it that is consistent with the premise without glaring logic holes. Oh, its sci fantasy and if you poke at it, of course there are holes. But it treats the premise at least as seriously as say, The Walking Dead treats its world, and manages to pack in drama around it. Its a bit slower, lacking any actual zombies or true danger, and there are fewer characters, but its all very well done.

Edit: Season 2 is not coming for a long ass time. Apparently they spent a ton of time f*cking around with the script, and filming of season 2 won't even start till late this year or early next year.
