Kelly Country by A Bertram Chandler In this story, a 20th century Time traveler interferes in the destiny of faamous Australian Outlaw Ned Kelly, who was excited on November 11, 1880 . I n this book the events leading Kelleys' downfall don't happen because of the intervention of the Time traveler. Let's just say the consequences to the timeline are quite interesting.![]()
Chandler was early favorite of mine. I've read most of his stuff and this one sounds familiar.

The Merchant Princes is a science fantasy and alternate history series of nine novels by British writer Charles Stross. In the series, there exists a number of parallel worlds all of which are on the same geographical Earth, but with different societies at different points of development. Members of a certain bloodline can travel between these worlds along with their immediate possessions. The series largely follows Miriam Beckstein, a technology journalist raised in a familiar "normal" Earth, who discovers she was born in a parallel world and is a member of this bloodline.

1632 (E Flint), 1633 + 1634 The Baltic War (E Flint and D Weber) which are a self-contained novel and a self-contained duology with a definite storyline and ending in the wider context of the 1632 series - the overall series meanders a lot and I've read some more books from it (on the order of 10+ novels and lots of short stories) but not the more recent ones as the writing quality was mixed and the books hit or miss. However the first three above are masterpieces of alternate history and would highly recommend them
