What Are Your Favorite Alternate History Novels and Stories ?

I quit at book 4. Loved the first 3. I'm not a huge fan of the multi-authored shared world type series anyway. I just liked the premise of the first few books

One of the problems is that imho it is quite unclear which book is book 4. I mean one can look at publication order sure, but that is quite misleading since most books after Baltic War are set in a particular location and have only tangential connection with the main (as it is) series featuring Mike, Rebecca, Gretchen, Emperor Gustav etc - one can argue that book 4 is actually the one authored years later by E Flint alone where Mike Stearns becomes a general leading a United Sates of Europe (or was it Germany?) army in Poland (forgot the name of the book) and its immediate sequel and which were among the better series books...

The 4th book for me was the one where Mike, Rebecca & (Gretchen?) set off alone across a war torn countryside to go meet Cardinal Richelieu? Unaccompanied by no men at arms. Lost me there.

1632 (E Flint), 1633 + 1634 The Baltic War (E Flint and D Weber) which are a self-contained novel and a self-contained duology with a definite storyline and ending in the wider context of the 1632 series - the overall series meanders a lot and I've read some more books from it...

I found 1636: The Kremlin Games exceptionally interesting. It can be read right after 1632.
