What comics are you all reading? What do you think?

Juzza (or anyone else who knows)

Slaine: Warrior's Dawn, is that with new art or a reprint from the past?

The only Image/Wildstorm books I got into prior to the past couple of years was Spawn.

Yeah I really enjoyed Spawn but was only picking up the trades, which suddenly stopped a few years back at the point where Billy Kincaid is made a Hellspawn in order to torture Spawn (trade 14/15 I think) I sent an e-mail to McFarlane enterprises wondering why but they never responded, I still look occasionally but nothing has comeout since. Annoying when the story was not finished. Just read Miller's Daredevil, a one-off buy that was great for what I paid, especially when you throw in a little Cap America :)

Anyone reading Morrisson's The Seven Soldiers mini-series? I am loving The Guardian, Zantanna, The Shining Knight and Klarion the Witch Boy . Though I was hoping that the mini-series wouldn't run so long(it'll be a year until the ending).

I've never written in this section before, as I don't usually read comics, but I borrowed Midnight Nation by Straciznksy, who did bablyon 5 amd so far it is really good. The artwork is excellent, though the lead character is a tad unrealistic - I just don't think chain smoking caffeine addicts look like Arnold Schwartznegger. However it is atmospheric, and a good plot so far.

Taken straight out of the 2000AD pages, Mith.

The only one I wasn't too fond of was Klarion but I'm picking them up. I'm also looking forward to the Mister Miracle mini with Pascal Ferry on art.

I have to confess to reading more Warren Ellis with Planetary, I got the third trade cheap and was badly hooked so went and bought the rest :D

Yep. Planetary is addictive. I think that this Ellis' opus and his best work to date. It is suppose to be ending soon.

TBH I hope so because right now I'm playing catch up on The Authority, Planetary and Stormwatch and I'm not sure if I can afford trades of all three :D I bought the first Authority trade on the advice of a friend and have been hunting down anything I can find involving any of the three titles since - I found three cool crossover pieces; Planetary and Batman (I'm so there :D ) Planetary and JLA (as previous) and Planetary with The Authority (three for three :) )

Hmmm,

I read wonder woman pretty regulalry, all the JLA comics. Its all about the jLA

The Authority, which is improving nicely. We'll see if it keeps it up.
Astonishing X-Men, still great. I love Joss.
Desolation Jones, by Ellis. It's hilarious. And serious. And wonderful.
I also recently picked up Hellblazer TPB Fear and Loathing because I watched Constantine and kept thinking all through it: This isn't right...
I like Constantine, but I prefer to view it as a separate entity so I don't get confused or irritated. :p When I get paid I'm getting Dangerous Habits and the others Garth Ennis wrote cos he's a genious too :D

have you read any of Ennis' Hitman and Preacher?? There will be a new Hitman story arc coming up JLA Classied some time this or next year.

Oh and I agree Desolation Jones is JUST BRILLIANT! The best Ellis story and character that I've read in a while.

Has anyone read the Ballad of Halo Jones I think it's called? I've seen loads of recommendations but none with much detail about the actual storyline etc

Yeah Priest, I've read some of Preacher, but haven't gotten around to Hitman yet. A friend is going to lend me his copies so I won't have to buy the!
I will have to start reading JLA again.. Ellis is writing something for that book now. lol all of this is wrecking my budget. Fortunately Fell is cheap. Guys, check it out if you haven't yet. It is $1.99 only. Unless you live in Canada... :D

I've been picking up The Legend of Grimjack trades, by John Ostrander and Timothy Truman. I'd heard so much about this comic book of the 1980s I was really anticipating these trades since IDW's announcement last year that they were releasing them. Enjoyed Book 2 a lot and waiting to get my hands on Book 3.

I've been picking up The Legend of Grimjack and The Complete Jon Sable, Freelance trades from IDW, shame they're a bit on the expensive side but wonderful stuff nonetheless. Can't wait for their first Maze Agency in a couple of months time. What with these and the Nexus Archives from Dark Horse, it's a good time for fans of the 80's Independents, if only Dynamic Forces would hurry up and get their American Flagg hardcover out like they've been promising for months.

Picked up the latest 100 Bullets trade - The Hard Way and finished it all too quickly, looks like another interminable wait before the next one :( Also have my hands on some new Authority trades, the difference in styles post Ellis is interesting.

Anyone read Moore's Top Ten series? Are they worth getting in trades?
