What games are you playing?

Right now im playing Daxter on the PSP. It's really good, easily my favourite PSP title out so far..The gameplay is solid, the graphics are some of the best I have seen on a handheld, and its refreshing. I would probably give it a 9/10..Because there are some akward camera views which are quite annoying.

Now im playing Mario Strikers on GC. It isn't a bad game 7/10. It does suffer some pretty bad frame-rate issues though. Music isn't particularly strong, and animation for that matter. It's a pretty fast paced soccer game though and a times it can be a blast. As gamespot mentioned, it doesn't fell all that Mario.

Brian Lara Cricket, the season is in flow with willow slapping cork and beer in the air :D (depending on the time of day) Highly addictive and challenging plus I can pretend that my cover drive always goes where I intend.

Playing Oddworld: Strangers Wrath on the XBox.

Besides a few frustrations with the camera I am very much enjoying it. :D

Yeah I heard some good things about it but it seemed to be on and off the shelves quicker than I could blink. Worth searching the bargain bins for?

It sure is!! That's where I picked my copy up. Got it for 15 bucks! :D

As fun as it is though, I don't think I would wanna pay over 40 dollars for this game - so if you find it cheaper then that then go for it. Its just as crazy as the other Odd World games...and there is a lot of hilarious moments in it that just make you scratch you're head and wonder what the hell the developers were smoking.

I loved Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee... it was one of the first games I got for my X-Box.... but I'll be damned if Stranger's Wrath just didn't completely kick my ass and I just couldn't finish it. :( Maybe I need to try it again. I did like how the squirrels would talk sh** to you. :p

I'm currently playing Half Life 2 on the X-Box. I was VERY dubious that a decent sequel could be made to what I consider the best FPS ever made (giving nods to Doom and Duke).

However.... wow... I mean.. WHOAH! This game blows me away. It's as fun as the original with a very sci-fi post-apocalyptic feel to it.

If video game violence doesn't bother you, I highly recommend this game.

Is it any good on the Xbox? My brother's birthday is soon and I'd love to get it for him but I'm not certain if fps's translated from PC work on the Xbox so well. I loved it on PC but he doesn't like playing games on it so I was hoping to show him something of what he is missing :)

I haven't seen Half Life 2 on the PC, so I can't make a decent comparison, but I am really enjoying it on the X-Box. It's smooth and beautifully rendered... no bugs (yet) and the controls are very easy to use (I do like the X-Box controller the best). I got a new copy at $19.99 and it's totally worth it.

Half Life 2 is a solid Port for the X-Box, however the PC version kicks its ass up and down the street!

Still, if you cant play it on the PC its VERY much worth it to still play it on the Box. :D

I'm slightly biased though, as I am of the camp that shooters belong with a mouse and keyboard.

Just started playing Heroes of Might and Magic V. It's not to bad overall, it stays true to it's roots which I love. The main irritant is the new 3d environment, it can be annoying clicking on items and having to move the camera about to get your bearings.

Football Manager 2006
New Star Soccer - an old freeware game that is damn addictive, if frustratingly difficult. It's a simple text game, but you actually control a player instead of a team, which makes it unique.

Talking of Half Life 2, I'm currently playing Episode 1, the new installment released on Steam. So far, it's damned good - I'd go as far as saying it's better than HL2 itself. They've really taken everything up a level - the improved graphics are astounding, the acting and story is moving and brilliantly paced, the atmosphere is even thicker.

I'll be doing a full review once I'm done with it. :)

I'm also playing Half-Life 2: Episode one. It's awesome! Fast paced action, change of pace, slightly improved gameplay, and good characters in the game. Supposedly it's quite short, one player is only 4-6 hours which is disappointing, and their is no new multi-player content either. Would of been better if they added a few more weapons to your arsenal, which at time makes it feel a bit to familiar. Episode 2 is due around the end of the year which is nice :) Half-Life 2:Episode one is probably a 8.5/10 IMO.

I recently bought metal gear solid 2 and was dissapointed at how easy the game was. there was less stealth needed than mgs1 and the bosses are way easier. what happend the the great battles like raven with the gattling gun. that was a great battle (did it without radar) My point is the bosses are so much easier (rex is way harder than ray) and the gameplay isnt as good.Ok when you go on an onslaught against guards it is slightly more fun, but it laks waht the original had.

Gahh! I went to GameSpot to see what the basic premise of Episode 1 was, and they had a spoiler for the ending of the first game right in the first line. Geez! That sucks. Oh well.

Oblivion on my 360 is probably the greatest gaming experience of my life.

And I've played em all over the years.

Over the weekend I had a good go on my friend's Gamecube; a console I never really got too acquainted with. Played the likes of Mario Party, FZero-X and Mario Football. All good fun, it's definately a more arcade style system, isn't it?

Also, at home on my PS2 I've been sucked back into FIFA 06. I look forward to the next instalment, as although I wouldn't have said this two years ago, I've officially been converted from PES to a FIFA! Then a couple days ago I had a look at the new Harvest Moon game on the gamecube, as well as Monster Hunter on the PSP, which was pretty damn fun.

I've been looking for my copy of Jade Cocoon 2 which I've now had for a few years but never played much. Then I remembered it was at a friend's house. And finally last night I started a new save on Grandia II. Oh, and of course in between it all I've been reading and watching the World Cup! :D
