What games are you playing?

Ugh, I had to do that too, although I can't remember which game it was for. Yeah, I'm not really interested in the Avatars or the 360's version of PS Home. But oh well.

And yes, it is the games!! Since when would a guy go along with something to impress a girl?! ( I would like to think that its a combination of both).

Europa Universalis 3 (complete) and Freealncer. Both great games which i'd recommend to anyone.

I'm playing Wild Arms 2 on my PS3 (downloaded from PSN. fun), Animal Crossing: City Folk (wii), Animal Crossing Wild World, Magician's Quest, and sometimes LittleBigPlanet!

DF2506

Red Faction: Guerrilla - only a few hours in but absolutely loving it so far, the demolition element is an interesting addition and plenty of fun.

I was enjoying Red faction too, Kater, until my PS3 died. Am getting a new one Friday though so I'll be back on it :-) (PSN - SolaarShadow... someone took Solaar!).

Also always go back to Warhawk, Tiger Woods 2010 and am trying to decide between NCAA 2010 and Madden 2010... Oh, and the magnificent Burn, Zombie Burn!

all gamed out

Just finished yet another run through Mass Effect, after having finished Oblivion for the third time. I'm just biding my time until Dragon Age: Origins comes out.

All gamed out ... but back :) Good to see you again mate. Red Faction is excellent and having just bought the transport to any safe house thingy :) no complaints about all the driving. Man is it big though, just made it into the third sector - Badlands - and it looks huge.

What system should I get?

Never really been to into video games but I think it may be that time. I am working a 40 hour cubicle job and have little hours of the day to do anything, so I figured why not try to zone out with video games? I am not experienced with any game console, so anything goes? Also, what games should I get?

Completed Red Faction: Guerrilla - very enjoyable but a little samey and gets easy-ish once you've bought the thermobaric bombs and jet pack. Really enjoyed this and on the back of Prototype kinda in the sandbox zone :) So I've picked up Just Cause from the bargain bin to have a crack at, not fussed on the control system so far but the game looks crazy big.

Got my refurbed PS3 back Kater so feel free to add me anytime :)

I'm now playing Call of Juarez: Bound In Blood cos I'm an absolute sucker for Westerns and it's actually a very good game! I've also heard a rumour that Street Fighter 4 is £15 in blockbuster and I have £43 credit stored there so I'm gonna wing it down that way in a minute. The game I am holding out for though, is Arkham Asylum. I'm not a big Bats fan but I downloaded the demo and I think that the "Game of the Year?" question could well be answered.

Red Faction has just had an add-on released but seeing as my dad is playing it I gotta wait a couple of weeks til he's finished before I can sink my teeth into it again! lol

Anyone else with a PS3 is also more than welcome to add me. I'm a social-whore. What can I say?

Oh, and to Fawnfrenzy, find out what system most of your friends have and join in with them. I've been a Playstation boy since day one, and you're more than welcome to come play anything online with me if you decide to go the way of Sony :)

Sony slut

Unfortunately you filthy Sony slut I own an Xbox 360 :D Plus I'm more of a casual gamer now, on-line and multiplayer have never been a huge draw for me unless it was Counter Strike and it's taken several years to throw off that obsession :)

Depends. What kind of gamer do you think you will be? Do you want something challenging and more serious, or entertainment/casual games? I would suggest (and I hate saying this) that you get a Wii. There's a variety of casual games, as well as some "hardcore" games. Rockband and Guitar Hero and great games for playing with a couple different people, and if you've been working a 40 hour a week job, this might help you destress a bit. Then again, Guitar Hero can get pretty frustrating. :P Also DDR and Mario Kart are great.

There are also great games like Mad World, Super Smash Bros Brawl, and Super Mario Galaxy if you think you want something that will consume a bit mroe of your time. I don't know how much time you'll have, so you might want to stay away from RPG type games, as they tend to be addicting and very time consuming.

If you are into guns, and war games, I would suggest getting the XBox 360. It has plenty of shooters, and might help you to release some of the pent up stress from work. :P Games like Gears of War, Halo (i hate Halo, but everyone else seems to love it), Bioshock(not really a shooter, but tons of fun) and others that I can't seem to remember. (I don't play my 360 a lot). The best part about the 360 in my opinion, is the downloadable puzzle game Braid. I can't get enough of it. It's absolutely beautiful. The 360 also has Castle Crashers I believe, and that game is great too. There are some casual games as well, but I'm not very familiar with them.

But, my personal favorite is the PS3. I love everything about it. The downloadable games are phenomenal. I play Pixle Junk Monsters (a tower strategy game) and Pixle Junk Eden more than I play some full games. I love Cuboid as well. But the best thing about the PS3, and probably a game you could have a ton of fun with, is Little Big Planet. It's revolutionary. Also, the ps3 has Bioshock, but also Killzone, Resistance, and Unreal Tournament (the 360 also has it) for your shooter fancy. I think the ps3 puts out better games yearly than the 360.

Alright, sorry for the rant. My suggestion: do some research. Look at some of the pros and cons of each console before you buy. Then again, if you have a lot of money, buy 'em all! Look at games featured, and decide which one would be right for you. IGN and Gamespot are great websites for research. They do articles about the differences between consoles, as well as write great reviews of games. Hope this helps..

I am currently ruining my thumbs on Marvel v Capcom 2 and realising I am way out of practice on FPS with Battlefield 1943 whilst waiting for Batman: Arkham Asylum.

After playing the demo, I'm really looking forward to having a crack at the full game.

Let us know how it goes, I'm curious about BAA but don't want to splash the cash until I get some solid opinions.

You should be able to download the demo off whatever the X-Box version of Playstation Network is.

Not a long demo, but gives you an idea of the game play.

Ah, Batman... I'm not a big fan of the character but the demo has won me over massively! Already a contender for 'Game of the Year' in many mags and reviews.

Back onto Street Fighter 4 and enjoying it sssooooo much more than the last time I bought it and traded it in within 2 days! lol

I'm doing a re-play of Jade Empire. I'm enjoying it as much as the first time I played it.
