What games are you playing?

Hey dude, I have heard that Dragon Age is superior on the PC, but I played it on the PS3 and I loved it. Easily one of my all-time favorite games. I think the camera is slightly different on the console, with a more "zoomed in" view for the battles, where the PC version provides a wide angle view so you can utilize more strategy for the fights.

As for your taste in PS3 games we seem to have similar tastes. Fifa 10 is fantastic, you will love it. As for your fighting game fix, I recommend Soul Calibur 4. It is easily the best fighting game out there. Along with some of my friends, we've easily played well over 100 hours on Soul Calibur, and it is still going strong, which I cant say for other fighting games we've owned such as Virtua Fighter and Mortal Kombat vs. DC Heroes.

Great call with Soul Caliber 4. Awesome game.

With my Xbox dead I have begun replaying PS2 favourites, I have completed God of War and am I think about halfway through the second. Seriously addictive these games.

Been playing too many things recently. Small sample:

Sins of a Solar Empire
Trine
Drakensang
Dragon Age: Origins
GTA 4
Space Trader.

Well, got a PS3 for Xmas, so I've been playing a mix of:

Uncharted (the first one)
Folklore (a kind of gothic jrpg)
and Little Big Planet

For my PS3 -
The Orange Box

For my 360 -
Dragon Age
Tiger Woods '10
COD:MW2
Assassin's Creed 2
Forza 3

Ordered Darksiders but it takes a while to get to Korea so I should see it mid-January or so

My wife and I finally hooked up the new Wii this weekend. I've been jamming away on Star Wars: the Force Unleashed. The sweat and soreness as the result of a video game are just plain wrong. Man, I hope the neighbors can't see me. My wife even jokes about me being 'Darth Flail.'

Nice :P

I basically started Dragon Age again last week, this time as a female Dwarf Noble, and I'm enjoying the game a LOT more than on my City Elf Rogue. It's hard work making myself redo things (such as Lothering), and I'm skipping a lot of the fluff. Return to Ostegar is out, um... tomorrow, so I'll be getting that :)

@ Peter William - My brother got an Xbox 360 for christmas and as we're on opposite shifts he's been kind enough to let me use it. So I finally got my hands on and completed Batman: Arkham Asylum and it is good. Fairly easy apart from a few boss battles unless you turn the difficulty up to highest but not as short as I thought it was going to be. It's got some neat gameplay mechanics, stunning visuals and a suprisingly interesting storyline. There's also plenty to do after you've completed it in terms of hunting extras in story mode and a challenge mode involving stealth and fighting sections.

As an aside this seems to be becoming more and more an option for companies to make a relatively short main game then stuff it with missions from that mode into a challenge/extras option. Personally I'd rather have a few extra levels. But yeah Batman: AA very good rental option or even purchase if you can get it for a decent price. Looking forward to a second one, plenty of room for expansion with a solid base.

I can't get off MW2 at the moment, I'm afraid. Wasn't gonna buy it but all my friends and family grabbed it and I'm very glad I did!!

Also preordered Star Trek Online cos I'm a massive geek ;-)

Oh, and I play Zombie Wars on facebook!! lol

Solaar
all bases covered

Well, I've pre-ordered my Collector's Edition of Mass Effect 2. I can't wait until tuesday morning. I'm going to be at the store right when they open. I am so flippin' excited. I love Bioware. I don't know if I can say that enough.

I have to wait until the 29th for it :(

I finally paid my friend for my copy of BioShock 2 today (we did that 4 pack thing on Steam, so I got the game for about 2/3 of the price), and I pre-purchased my Mass Effect 2: Digital Deluxe edition from Steam!

Also ordered Jade Empire which arrives tomorrow, so I've got something to keep me going.

No 360 so no Mass Effect 2 for me. :(

However, I did pick up Dragon Age: Origins yesterday and already lost 8 hours to it. Quite scary since I only got home with it after 8pm last night and did a full 7 hour work day today.

Graphics are a bit of a let down, not much improved from KOTOR. Good memories though as game plays pretty much the same.

I haven't joined the next generation of gaming yet. I copped out of the PC market and went with a Mac as my current computer, partially in an effort to get out of MMOing and dumping money into PC parts and games. I also haven't gone in for a PS3 or XBox360 yet. They're just too expensive for the little devotion I have to games. What I have been playing:

DS - SMT: Devil Survivor - Just recently discovered the SMT series of RPGs and love them so far. This has a good story and addictive gameplay.

Wii - New Super Mario - Can't help it. I'm a platforming junkie. This is good, fun, old-style Mario.

VC - I plunked down for Mega Man 9 last week and found that my MM muscles were so atrophied that it was a disgrace, so I put down for MM2, my old favorite in the series, in order to get back in shape again a bit before retackling MM9.

PS2 - Persona 3 - Another SMT game - really quite liking this one also. Everyone seems to agree it's a classic. Also, I'm slowly working my way through Shadow of the Colossus finally. I missed this one the first time around, also. Beautiful, interesting game.

Do you not have a PC that can run it, Wulfa?

Not with me. Recently reloacted for work and the room I am renting doesn't have the space for my desktop PC and my laptop would have a breakdown if I even inserted the disk.

Desktop is back at my parents house till I find a new place to rent.

Actually, I just discovered last night, completely by happenstance, that there's a Mac version of Dragon Age. I'll have to save up my pennies for a little white to go in for that...looking forward to getting to that later this year.

Ah, sorry to hear that. It's oddly light on system specs for a recent game (roughly the same as Mass Effect, but a little higher) so maybe you can once you get your desktop back :)

I'm not playing anything right now. Stopped with Mass Effect (level 59 out of 60, and I don't have the will to go through a FOURTH run with that character), so I'm either going to be back on Dragon Age or I'm going to slog on with Jade Empire.

I have finished Bishock and Resistence: Fall of Man :)

Now I am playing "The Orange Box", Half Life 2 is alot of fun so far. I havent checked out "Portal" but Im sure I will like it!!

Also I FINALLY won Borderlands on Ebay for under $40 (all I could afford) and it should be mailed out tomorrow!!! YAY

I shamefully got the pirated Mass Effect 2 out on PC, since I had my saved files left over from the first one. This sequel allows you to take your save files and keep your previous characters stats and such. Pretty good game so far, and I can't wait for the third one.

Strangely it seems way too similar to Alastair Reynolds' Revelation Space universe, and it's Inhibitor species. ;)

By the way, has anybody tried out the Star Trek Online MMORPG yet? The beta access has been going on for a few weeks, but I haven't played it yet. I was wondering if it is worth buying.
