What games are you playing?

Started playing some Dragon Quest 9 tonight...so far, it's entertaining, but not terribly new and inspired. But I don't think people play Dragon Quest for new and inspired...just good old gameplay.

Well, I finally broke down and opened up Naughty Bear. Huge disappointment. DO NOT purchase this title. Absolutely a waste of my time and resources. A giant pile if I ever saw one. Hope the trade in value is decent when I go to the video game store. I must have been on something when I decided to pick this title up.

I did receive Tiger Woods '11 and a few things have changed some for the better some for the worse but it is step forward.

Picked up Crackdown 2 but have to wait for it to be delivered later this week while I am on vacation.

I also am taking advantage of Steam's new Mac games and picked up the entire Civilization IV series and have been forging my way in the world.

Tonight I plan to pick up Starcraft II, I just hope everything is not in Korean.

When I head to the States I am bringing 15 games for trade in so I should have something decent to play when I return from vacation.

Anyone playing Starcraft II? Opinions? I still haven't pulled the trigger on purchasing it.

From what I've heard, Glelas, it's the same but different.

I'm waiting for a price drop, as I refuse to pay £35 for a standard edition PC game.

I've been playing Dragon Age (PC) and Mass Effect 2 (Xbox360) for the past few months. I too am feeling undecided about picking up Starcraft II. The trailers are absolutely amazing, though I was never too much of a RTS person

Not playing it yet, obviously, but really looking forward to Dead Space 2 in January. Thinking about relaying the first one.

The Longest Journey, Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers and Unreal Tournament are the ones I'm playing currently.

Unreal Tournament really takes me back and whilst it's aged visually, it's still great fun to play. It's as good as I remember it!

Nevermind aged visually, that's a helluva game. Pure, unadulterated fun.

Yep, won't disagree there. I think I'd take it over any of these modern shooters any day! You can't beat stringing together monster kills, with the announcer basically doing this:

M-M-M-Mon-M-M-M-Monster Ki-M-M-M-Monster Kill... Kill. M-M-M-Monster Kill :D

Just finished The Longest Journey and I must say I'm kinda sad about it.

I could feel some of its "power" whilst playing, and sadly some of it wasn't as powerful for me 'cos of my idiocy (in that I'd seen spoilers of bits by accident and slightly on purpose), but it was still a very good game.

Wish I didn't need a guide for most of it, though. Some of the puzzles are really obscure and surreal, so I kinda can't blame myself for using a guide (which, in turn, spoiled the odd event for me).

What's made it doubly sad for me is finding out the voice actress for April Ryan (The protagonist; voiced by Sarah Hamilton) has MS and has had cancer (although what I read said she's doing fine), and it's really put a dampener on my day. Such a shame :(

More a case of what I'm not playing I guess, I have bought Red Dead Redemption, Bayonetta, Halo Wars and Crackdown 2 in the last six weeks but haven't played any of them since starting my new job :(

Bank holiday meant I gave Crackdown 2 a go, I knew going in it was the same cityscape as the first game but still a little disappointed they didn't make more of an effort to alter it. More collection thingies seems like overkill and the game pallette is a bit too dark. On the upside lots more enemies, the game difficulty is noticeably harder - at least to begin with. More weapons, although the targeting is still kinda poo, and a cooler looking agent. I think without the surprise factor of the first game this won't be quite as good but still seems a lot of fun so far.

Let's see...
Eschalon: Book II
Unreal Tournament

Trying Freedom Force for the first time (it's silly) and I started a Mass Effect 2 replay in anticipation of the upcoming DLC (and I purchased the stuff I didn't have).

Just waiting for King's Bounty: Crossworlds now.

Well, King's Bounty: Crossworlds seems to have had a botched release, so I played some of that a week early. Good, although it's really just more of the same.

In regards to Mass Effect 2, I picked up the latest DLC today and again, more of the same. High entry fee but if you're gonna play through the game two times or more then it's worth it, I'd say.

Took about a ten week break from video games but now I am hooked on Red Dead Redemption. I love me some Western action. I think the Red Dead shooting vision makes the game a bit too easy though.

Been playing a lot of Dragon Age: Origins Awakening lately. I love this game personally :)

Also tried FFXIV beta but it was nearly unplayable thanks to the shoddy controls and UI lag. Square are taking UI design back by a decade with this one. The game itself isn't terrible; the graphics are absolutely amazing, the music is near perfect and the opening scenes for each starting city are epic. Unfortunately it offers nothing really new that makes it stand out from competing MMOs that I could see.
