I warn people when telling them about a book. From Victor Hugo being inclined to very detailed description, to Mercedes Lackey having some inconsistencies, to Twilight being, in my opinion, badly written. I don't see that disclaimer as being any different. .... Except that he's much more polite and matter of fact with his disclaimer than I have ever been or will ever be about my opinion on certain books. People who have negative opinions on the disclaimer state that, occasionally loudly. I don't see that as them forcing their beliefs down my throat, I see that as them disagreeing, occasionally loudly with the necessity of that disclaimer.
There is a back history with Sanderson Kaeru that you have to understand to get the gist of this. Lemme wait and see if Rob is going to allow this discussion to take place before I start posting links to comments, articles, etc.
