Are there words you have trouble spelling, either right now or every time you have ever tried spelling them?

The last two weeks I have been having trouble with the suffix -tion. Every time I use it it comes out as -toin.

I do think*** like this:

'now' when I mean 'know' or 'know' when I mean 'now'

And it could be any set of words like that. The problem word sets come and go. I can't think of any more examples, but there are lots in* the English language!

*I almost just did it there. At first**, I had 'on' instead of 'in'.

**Dope! And I almost did if there, too! With 'fist' instead of 'first'.

Double-Ps or not, Double-Ss or not, those are my consistent problem words. Apartment, apparently, position, possible. Also "manoeuvre", but that's the fault of the French, not me.

When I was about nine, for a whole day I couldn't decide if "of" was spelled with a V or not.

Ov Mice and Men...

I'm usually okay with them, but I have a blind spot for "weird" and "wield".

I've done stuff like that, Andrew! Especially when I think too long on the how a word is spelled, then start thinking about the origin of the letters, why they sound the way they do, how the word came to be or why those letters make the word......and at that point I can no longer breathe because I'm laughing too hard at the sheer absurdity of it all.

I used to get "despite" wrong all the time (actually I just did it again). It was further compounded by my old 90s era word processor being incapable of figuring out the correct spelling, leaving me stumped. I also had a phase where I would always switch Os with As and vice versa while typing. I haven't the slightest clue how that happened. Now I just tend to type too fast and write dyslexic gibberish.

I've got a few of those... or at least ones I have to think really hard about every time! Can't think of any off the top of my head though.

I've also got quite a few where my fingers automatically type something I don't mean. Like "conversion" when I want to write "conversation".

Most of the time I can get the spelling right, or close enough for the spell check to get it. But I have an unfortunate tendency to think "with the" and type "the the", or variations and similar word pairs.
