Netflix Reveals Trailer, Release Date for ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’

Netflix has released a teaser trailer for its upcoming show, A Series of Unfortunate Events.

The show will star Neil Patrick Harris as the evil Count Olaf, Patrick Warburton as the narrator, Lemony Snicket, and Malina Weissman as Violet, the eldest of the Baudelaire children.

The show will premiere on Netflix on January 13, 2017 in the US & Canada.

A Series of Unfortunate Events is based the 13-book children’s book series of the same name, in which the wicked Count Olaf tries to usurp the Baudelaire inheritance from his two nieces and nephew, after being appointed their legal guardian.

The Netflix series will consist of eight initial episodes. The first four books will be covered, with each book being the topic of two episodes.

Lemony Snicket is the pseudonym of writer Daniel Handler. Handler is an executive producer of the series.

Harris (Count Olaf) is known for his role as Barney Stinson in the long-running series, How I Met Your Mother. Warburton (Lemony Snicket) is best known for his work as the voice of Joe Swanson on Family Guy, David Puddy on Seinfeld, and has appeared in dozens of other televisions shows and movies. Weissman (Violet Baudelaire) is best known for her role as a young Kara Zor-el on the TV series, Supergirl.

  1. I’m looking forward to this series. I loved the books and my children enjoyed the movie adaptation.
