You may know already, but Josh Malerman is the author of Bird Box, which was made into a film starring Sandra Bullock. He is also the author of Incidents Around the House, which is soon to be a film starring Jessica Chastain called Other Mommy.
He is clearly a genre author of significant interest: in less than 24 hours, the trailer for Other Mommy was watched on Youtube over 7.5 million times.
His newest novel, PICTURES OF YOU, is about a woman who becomes the unknowing subject of an artist’s dangerous work in this intense Hitchcockian horror. After a night of playing the muse for a painting, she wakes up the next day to find herself trapped within the world behind the frame.
It deals with themes of artistic ambition verses delusion, and the terrifying nature of jealousy. It’s the perfect read for fans of Stephen King’s MISERY.
