TV Series or Show You're Watching

The Last Frontier (2025) . Plot twists and great incidental music tracks, especially with a decent 5.1 channel system.

I'm watching Spine Chillers on Amazon and on one episode 2 women are talking on the phone. One is getting ready to go out and putting on her makeup. She says "I've done me tash but i left some spider's legs". I have no idea what the hell that means. I looked up tash and it said it was short for mustache but that makes no sense to me. Anyway I was wondering if anybody could tell me what that means.

By the way Spine Chillers is a horror anthology and it is pretty good. Not every episode of course but more good than bad.

I’ve been watching The Witcher Season 4, and it’s not bad at all. Liam Hemsworth isn’t Henry Cavil but he does a decent job of being Geralt. It’s not like Geralt was anything but taciturn anyway. Yennifer is great this season, and Ciri is as helpless and useless as usual. I’m OK with the new season, and I think they do a good job of the transition in Episode 1.

I’ve been watching Season 1 of American Gods on the free Tubi streaming service, and it seems pretty great so far. Like a lot of fantasy works, you just have to go with it at first, and hope things get explained better as they go along. One thing to note here is that there are little side stories interspersed into the episodes that sometimes tell some background information, and sometimes just tell a little story.

Essentially, this is a story of gods who come to America. Some of these gods are very old, some are new. The real standout in the New Gods is Media, played by Gilllian Anderson. She first appears as Lucy Ricardo on TV, then as David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust in a limo, and recently as Marlyn Monroe. She’s amazing anytime she’s on screen.

The story follows Shadow Moon, who is released early from prison due to the unexpected death of his unfaithful wife. He is recruited by Mr. Wednesday to act as his chauffeur and bodyguard. They set out to gather together some of the old gods for a purpose not yet clear. Seems like there’s some potential here…

I've started to watch indie series and movies a month ago, this is the last one I have watched. It was not great but it was thought provoking and beautiful. I don't give it 10 from 10, I give it 7 for the visuals and 9 for the story.

For Hogswatch I watched Hogfather on Amazon Prime. They divide the video in three roughly one hour episodes, making it a three episode miniseries.

This is of course based on the novel by Terry Pratchett, wherein the Hogfather (Discworld’s Father Christmas) disappears, and Death has to take on his role for Hogswatch (Christmas equivalent). Hilarity ensues!

It’s a great watch for Pratchett fans (and features a cameo by the author). However, it’s very self-explanatory so no advance knowledge of the novels is necessary. It was reportedly the first video adaptation of Discworld novels.
