Authors Co-operate together to produce a short story/stories

um i havent had time but i shud have time either tomorrow(saturday) or sunday one of the two...

...is that a problem?

Do you actually have any idea as to where your plot is heading. It would be no good to just meander around on an airship. What will be the conflict? PLEASE guys don't info dump.

I just have to say Computer, your character just seems a bit dumbed down and not really dirtied up enough. I'm also worried we are limiting our character to a small age group; we need something a little more exciting I feel.
 
Actually I think my character is fine, I've dirtied it and frankly I like it how it is but if other people think my character isn't "dirty" enough then say so and i take it to the drawing board again though I say there is nothing wrong with it...

...As having a goal it don't matter that much right now, we are setting the scene for our characters yes i admit we having got a goal at the moment but it is good to write we all need to post something, we need to have at least some writing done. By me and Sedray-on doing it now then we have a base something we can change, edit and play with. All I'm doing in my first chapter is giving some history of my character giving some action maybe and then getting him onto the air ship. I see nothing wrong with that, and if there is something wrong with that then sa so. I'm not doing anything drastic but I'm sure we can only start to really write this out if we push ourself to get started. We need only take this one step at the time. After I've wrote my chapter I'm not going to launch into another one. Hopefully we are all going to look at the piece of work done and edit it and revise it.

Maybe having something done on paper that we can all nit pick on will show us some ideas, by this i mean when me and sedray-on have both posted wot we have got then we can see what immediately pops up that needs correcting or maybe that little bit more.

Does anyone else agree with me, believe me I'm treating this like a steeping stone for all of us. Hopefully everyone else will follow by example and get something down about the character and bring other people's character. How is there a problem with this?

It makes me angry that we have had to wait so long to do some writing, me myself I really want to get into this and I'm sure everyone else wants to regardless of whether they have time or not. This project has taken a long time getting off the ground and i think that by doing this we will start to.
 
Comp, good points, and pretty much exactly the ones I would have made myself.

SirRob, if you want a plotline so bad, write one out, you know the very, very basics, why don't you do an outline around that. I know it won't be very clear, or long, but will at least give us some direction to work towards. As the world grows so will the plotline. We all need to start somewhere. Like Comp said, once it's down on paper we can modify it as needed.
 
O.K go ahead Computer. How long is your chapter going to be? If you want to write a very long one, or if your not writing very fast could you please send half of it (or less) to everyone.

Sorry, Se'dray-On Kieron doesn't quite work as a fantasy name.
 
i've only wrote 250 words so far i'm thinking maybe 2500 should do it but if i dont think i can manage 2500 i'll try for as many as i can....

....is this ok with evry1?
 
Send what you've done to us all computer if you're happy with it.
Also, if you people think it's worthwhile, I could set up a little geocities site where I could put up work and info.

Anyone got an idea for an extension of Sedr'ay-On's and Computer's idea or another plot?
 
i got about 1000 words so far soz its been a bit slow i wanna write about another 1000 or so then i'll send it to ya sir rob then u can out it up or wotever

ok i moved onto 2000 words now and i just have to do abit more it looks like it might pop into the 3500 word mark. All i done is introduced my char, gave sum history said abit about him moved him from one city to another. he in port city no where he'll get on an airship. Sedray what did you say you rairship was gonna b called again?

I mentioned sumfink bout cannons. Sumfink about square hatches on a city wall like of ships with cannons on how the canno fired from hatches? well added them to a city wall and then got my char 2 ask what they are for. a gate guard telle him. finished there at mo gonna say sumfink about the city get my char 2 pier um get him on sedrays ship then i submit it then we all edit it, change it revise it basically is every1 happy with that? wen i say submit it i mean to u guys not 2 sff. after were happy wiv mine we'll wait for wenever sedray gets his done then do same to that then link his wiv mine on ur web page or sumfink rob?

then other autors do same and we slowly link each chapter together gettin our chars to meet up??

So I was thinking I could take care of the political section of this world. Sound ok?
 
I'll be starting on the Air portion of the story on Friday, cause of school, and should have something done on Monday to submit, Tuesday at the latest.

Endemix, since I'm working on the political aspect of the Airships and Sky Isles, how about we get together later to combine our two so it matches, somewhat.

Oh, and Comp: The ships name is Dawn's Glory.

I think if the story might focus on matters to do with the Avians, which we discussed earlier.

Sidwynspider hasn't posted for ages!! I don't want to expand more on the Avians until I know what her race is.

How long till you're finished Comp? Remember everybody, the world (or the most advanced area) is going to be wholly 17th century in technology and style.
