First Fantasy book you ever read/Introduction to Fantasy

For me, it was The Hobbit when I was eleven years old, and then I became totally entranced with the genre.

I think it must've been The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley in 7th grade.

My mother read The Hobbit and C.S. Lewis' Chronicle of Narnia to me all before I was six. I don't know which one came first.

I forgot all about The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe. I remember reading it when I was 12 but I think I was made by the school system.
I didn't read the other books in the series until years later

The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe or The Hobbit.. are the first two books I read, don't remember which one I read first tho

It was either Voyage of the Dawn Treader by Lewis or The Book of Three by Alexander.

Feist's Magician, which I still believe is one of the greatest fantasy epics of all time.

My very first book was The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe , by Lewis. I read it as a kid, but didnt read anymore fantasy until I got older and then I read LOTR's and never looked back :D

I read the Hobbit first, but it wasn't what hooked me. The book that turned me into a fantasy reader was The Neverending Story.

Probably The Hobbit, but it might have been a Lloyd Alexander or CS Lewis.

Fighting Fantasy books were like choose your own adventure books. They were wriiten by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone

Ha! Caldazar share the exact same history..

The Hobbit for me too, but, it was Magician Apprentice that hooked me. I remember buying it for the sake of the Kulgan on the cover, with a giant pointed hat. I still have the copy of it, worn & torn. But, well loved. :)

Keyoke
