I Just Bought (DVD)

I've been meaning to find out - how did "Wallace and Gromit" fare over in the states? I thought it might be a touch too... "english" maybe? One of those films that would slip under the radar.

It was #1 at the boxoffice the week it opened. It made $56 million dollars stateside.
You probably know it also just won the Oscar for best animated feature.

I bought Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I saw it in theaters in the summer and enjoyed it..It takes a different spin then the original. I got Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Crash, and am patiently waiting for King Kong to come out at the moment!

Yep I did :D ...Haven't had time yet to check out the extra's though.
 
They're good, but especially the short documentary on how they made the Oompa-Loompas, and the lesson on how to dance like an Oompa-Loompa! :D

(Oh, and I just bought Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire).
 
Had to pick up a book I ordered, and use a coupon before it expired, so I also got a couple of DVDs.

Let's see. The last few movies I bought. "Pride and Predjudice", the one with Keira Knightly. I really enjoyed it. Of course everyone says the BBC one with Colin Firth is better. I have to order it because no one in this town seems to carry it. But if you want a good love story this is one of the best written ones in my opinion (absolutely loved the book) And of course had to get Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It was okay, but the book was so much better. But then there was so much in the book they couldn't have gotter it all in a movie. Tomorrow King Kong comes out and will have to get that one. Didn't see it but the kids did and they loved it so I probably will also. The one I am waiting for is Narnia. That comes out next week and can't wait.
 
Narnia was ok, but I think the BBC version had better characters and characteristics. It was just ok... there's gonna have to be some vast improvement in the next 6(?) films!!

Goblet of Fire - in my opinion - was not a good film at all. The first two films were good, but the third was my favourite and then it was hugely let down by the fourth! Plus, That Daniel kid is far too old now :D

I recently purchased Firefly series on dvd after I saw Serenity, and it really is a great show. A shame it went off the air. Fox always seems to pull the plug on good programs.
 
I bought King Kong which I quite enjoyed in theaters. The special effects are great. The extra's are pretty good though some of them are quite boring.
 
Bought the 2 disc special edition of King Kong. The 1 disc version had zero special features whatsoever! Anyway, I found all the post-production diaries interesting, and fun to watch. I enjoy these special features, as they remind me of all the LOTR DVDs, with the hours and hours of features, often with the same people (WETA and other crew, Jackson, Serkis, etc.).
 
I just bought My Cousin Vinny (an oldy but goody) and Dead Poet's Society. Pirates of the Caribbean was another recent purchase...
 
Not bought but it was a present: special edition of Mr and Mrs Smith.

And two or three weeks ago I bought 11:14 - I had to wait quite a while for this DVD, I saw the movie a long time ago.

Nighty Night This is blackest comedy in the history of moving pictures. Its fantastic.
Also finally got around to buying Sin City the extenended edition
 
I just bought the special edition of the Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe. Very nice packaging for the 2 disc special edition, plus it came with a nice extra piece of metal packaging (maybe because I bought it on the first day?). It looks like it has some good extras (over 10 hours) as well.
 
I recently bought King Kong, the BBC production of North and South, which for awhile I thought was the US John Jakes' Civil War North & South, but thankfully, it's not. :)

What is a Cronenburg ? I have the older one, and it is not exactly the same as the one in the movies. I was quite bummed the first time I watched it. Do you know why they changed it, and is the new one the original ?
