Have you read any of Macleod's other work?Kleronomas said:Just bought on the weekend secondhand:
The Star Fraction - Ken Macleod
Revelation Space - Alastair Reynolds
Stranger in a Strange LAnd - Heinlein
Book of Days - Gene Wolfe
Masters of the Maze - Avram Davidson
The Omnibus of Science Fiction - Edited by Groff Conklin (Short stories from between 1913 and 1952).
I seem to be building up to a sci-fi reading period after reading mostly fantasy (aside from Vance) over the last year or two.

And, the last time I helped with inventory at the bookstore I took home Imperial Earth by Arthur C. Clarke, Carrion Comfort by Dan Simmons, and something else... just goes to show you how much stuff I really have sitting on my shelf that's never even been attempted to be read.

The series are as follows:Kleronomas said:G'day monty_mike. No I haven't, but I have a copy of The Stone Canal. How do rate these two works? Which would be best to begin with?

Lust : or No Harm Done - Geoff Ryman
I guess it is safe to assume you enjoyed the firs part of Succession? How did stand up against the good things you've heard about it?emohawk said:The Killing of Worlds by Scott Westerfeld (part 2 of Succession)
Actually haven't read it yet. I heard it was largely one novel split into two so I was waiting for the MMP release of the second half before starting it. It's a fair way down my "unread pile" (because I've been tackling it alphabetically by author) by I may jump it up.Fitz said:I guess it is safe to assume you enjoyed the firs part of Succession?
