Hello Everybody! Happy to join sffworld today!
My name is Derek.
I'm a horror fiction author, musician, indie game developer, and idol producer. Some things I did that might be worth mentioning: I co-founded the influential metal/hardcore band From a Second Story Window (FASSW). I also created an iPhone app called eMobo, which dealt with cell phone novels from Japan.
My debut horror novel, Kai, which explores a tragic connection between a young Japanese girl and an adopted Korean girl, won a lot of awards!
POA, my second horror novel, is about a Japanese woman’s deadly obsession with a famous AV idol. It reached number one on Amazon's horror charts!

I currently live in Tokyo, where I produce Japanese idols while also pursuing retro RPG game development as a new career. I'm also working on a new horror novel. I'd love to talk about it with anybody if you're interested!
My influences include Haruki Murakami, Natsuo Kirino, and Ryu Murakami.
