Hi Everyone,

I'm Ryan, and I'm 30 (man, I'm old) I'm from Ontario, Canada and I just got here about 2 weeks ago but didn't see a hello forum until this one.

I love writing non-fiction and poetry, love viewing art, especially digital, oil, acrylic, watercolor and drawing. My hobbies include computer graphic design, computer animation, website design, composing music, drums, synths, and remixing.

Love the outdoors, nature, reading, and research. No kids except my two Australian Shepards, Kylee and Bailey. Kylee was out for a run last night and unfortunately ran into a porcuipine, so she got eight needles stuck in her face and had to go to the emergency vet....But, she's ok. :)

If anyone wants to know more about me, just post or send me a message!! Everyone take care.

Hi all- I've been here a couple weeks too, but never saw the introduction thread.

I'm 25 yrs old and live in northwestern Colorado (away from all of that ratrace in Denver) and have a BA in writing. All I've managed to do with my degree is land a freelance job with the local county newspaper and I don't even make enough to buy a tank of gas!

I also do a lot of grounds maintenance both at the local school district and the golf course. And for this semester I'm a temporary high school band teacher since they couldn't find someone for the job. I keep pretty busy and unfortunately that tears me away from my writing.

I've been writing since I was in 5th grade when I used to make little books and draw pictures and write text for them. I'm also an avid reader as well- I have all of the Goodkind and Jordan books up on my shelf. I have plenty of Stephen King books, sci-fi and a ton of nonfiction topics on the sport of ice hockey. One of my other hobbies.

I play goalie for a women's team that is an hour and a half away from me. I also play goalie for another ice hockey team (co-ed) that is an hour the other direction. Lately I have been doing some skating out on right wing and managed to catch a puck in the knee a couple weeks ago. Last Saturday night I caught a puck in the knee again, in the same place. It's a brutal sport, but I love it.

I also snowboard, wakeboard, golf and fish. I used to get out and do more mountain biking and cross-country skiing, but my significant other doesn't enjoy those things as much as I do, so I don't have anyone to go with usually so just avoid the activities all together. Golf and groundskeeping are our two common denominators, I guess you could say. He likes hockey too, but doesn't play.

Like many on this board, I am also working on a book. I'm currently in the third revision of a fantasy ficton piece that is around 80,000 words in length. Hopefully I can get some time to get it prepared enough for publication, but it's a tough field and especially in the fantasy fiction market.

But yeah, I guess that's just a little about me. Was nice to find a board like this and I look forward to getting to know some of you.

Hi! I'm k4rm... 26... from NorCali (w00t!). Trying out this grad school thing.. hehe. School is great xD

I joined because I need something that can distract me during study breaks... but that's easy to get away from, too. Well, also because I'm a big George R. R. Martin fan... He's one of my favorite authors, and you have a portion of the forum dedicated to discussion of his works. =)

I like downhill skiing... I tried snowboarding, but I just can't get away from my skis. Oddly, though, I also used to skateboard (hahaha) and surf, but I don't do that so often anymore. I swim regularly-- it's my favorite stress release.

Hi all,

My name is Brad. I'm 25 and an anthropologist by education. I've really had fun poking around these forums for the past several months, had no idea that such a comprehensive database existed on fantasy to my wonderful surprise.

Been reading fantasy for a while, writing as well, but was becoming somewhat disillusioned before I found SFF World, and now I am blessed with many months of good fantasy reading ahead of me.

Anyway, I'm originally from Texas, now living in Illinois, and soon to be working in Korea.

Oh, and I am also a recovering fantastaholic.

Hi you can call me Orpheus, just joined up and first is my first post. So a bit about myself, well the most interesting thing is I run a website
http://www.sfbooklist.co.uk , as you tell from the name it's a Science Fiction and Fantasy related site, my aim is to list every SF & F book out there. So far I have 4412 authors listed, if you know any others let me know.
In the process of writing the site I had to learn XHTML and CSS so I also help run a forum for amateur webmasters to learn a few tricks
http://www.webmastercave.com .
Well that's all the plugs done with, but seriously I hope my two sites will be of help to some people here. And I will see you all in the forums.

Welcome to the forums SiberianSamuri and Orpheus!...Wow this forum is growing so much since I joined here..and that was only two months ago..lol

Hola

Oh well gosh. I didn't see this thread before. Hi. I'm a 44 year old reader and writer of fantasy and SF. Until my fiction starts paying all the bills, I make my living as a software engineer. Aside from reading and writing, I love MOTORCYCLES!! I ride a 2005 Yamaha FJR 1300. I have a weakness for computer games, too, so I try to avoid them (if I didn't, I wouldn't get any reading or writing done).

Hasta luego.

Hello, I'm Liam. I'm 37, live in the UK. I'm married with 3 kids. My main work is as a comic strip artist, currently working for DC's Vertigo line on a book called Testament. I'm also an independent publisher, a sometime singer-songwriter, and prose writer. Got an arm full of tattoos, love my rock, losing my hair, hate stepping on snails (my garden is full of them and I work in my shed) and have always loved science-fiction and fantasy novels.
This is my first non-comics board, and I'm enjoying it very much. Great hearing other opinions about the books I've loved and (occationally) loathed.

Cheers.

Hullo, I'm new and I'm breaking tradition. Normally, I lurk around forums for ages before I introduce myself :) (I've just registered)

About me: I'm 30 years old. I try to transform teenagers into literate and bookloving souls (aka, I teach literature). I'm a certified book-geek and fantasy remains my favourite genre.

And now, I think I'll go back to lurking and reading posts. ;)

I'm Bobbi and I'm a sffaholic... oh wait, wrong thread :p Well, anyways, I'm 40 years old, have two boys left at home, live in the boondocks and no one reads here, or if they do, they read Agatha Christie novels (which I just can't get into lol) I'm looking for intelligent (most of the time) conversation regarding the things I love.
