HOLY CRAP HEY! It sure has been a while... I just wanted a sense of finality for this leg of my internet persona. I guess this is more of a farewell than a hello, but take it as you wish. I may or may not continue to post every once in a while in the Fantasy/Authors sections (especially since there is a ton of great fantasy novels soon to be released).

"Go then, there are other worlds than these." It's been fun, and I can say with pride that this board has brought to me a new sense of literature wisdom. Thank you all.

I don't know if you know of the Final Fantasy series on the Playstation consoles, but mine is the FFX design heavilly edited on Paint Shop Pro.

Hi!

I am a 32 year old husband and father that currently makes a living by designing computer software. In my youth I fancied myself a writer and found great joy in spending a day pounding out words into images and images into scenes and scenes into stories. I studied English Literature in college and after working through my under grad degree I woke up one morning and realized that I would not be able to support myself on a teacher's salary and that I was already doing well by working with computers so a career was born.

Since then my writing time shrank away and I became more focused on getting married, working hard and building a stable foundation for my family. My son was born a little more than a year ago and the subtle itching of characters and stories seeking escape became more persistent. I have spent the last year struggling with finding a way to find my words again.

Yesterday, I stumbled onto SFFworld and after putting my son to bed I sat in bed with my laptop and read stories and posts until way to late for this old man. I decided this morning that perhaps this could be a good way for me to hop back up on that rusty old bike that I had put in the garage.

In a rather long winded way I am saying Hi and that I look forward to becoming a part of this community of word-slingers and word-smiths.

Hey all.

How is everyone?

Hmm, a little bit about myself. Well, I'm 16 years of age and currently living in the tiny country of New Zealand in the South Island. I co-administrate a writing forum hosted over on Proboards and have done so for just over half a year now after being a member there for two years. I've been writing since about the age of nine- my English teacher drummed it into me that I should give creative writing a crack, though I can't write poetry for my life. I love reading it, I just can't write it.

I do photography as a side hobby when I'm not writing. Does anyone else find that there's a particular time of the day when you're at your best for writing? I find mine is between 9:30pm and midnight every day. For some strange reason, it seems to be the only time when I can concentrate and actually get the thoughts from my head into some sort of coherent order. It's incredibly weird. *shakes head*

I've been role-playing on RPG forums since March 2001 and have always had a love of throwing in weird twists and setting stuff out there for others to twist around. I love doing collaborations with other people in most forms of art- whether it be lit or visual. I graphic design on the side too as a class at school. Not too flash at it though. Hehe.

At the moment, I'm working on a story called The Heron about a seventeen-year-old girl with leukaemia and her ways of dealing with it. It's going well so far and I intend to see it through to the end. It's always fun twisting a few plots of stories that you have running nowhere into one book. :D
 
Welcome Brian and Kari,

good to have another 16 year old around :) About the reading times, I tend to write better in the evenings or just whenever I'm relaxed. Some days I'll get loads of ideas and have nothing to write on! That can be annoying, especially if I end up forgetting them. I'm an admin of a forum that never really took off, for some reason it stopped growing at 50 members... it was for help with RPG MAKER software. I always wanted to role-play online but I guess I'm too lazy :p

Hmmm...what to say.

Well I'm 22 year old student from Croatia. I read mostly fantasy but if it's a interesting book I'll give it go.I'm also big movie fan,Tim Burton's work especially.
Currently spending my time by being lazy and listening to Iced Earth. :D
