Is Steelpunk the new Steampunk? Does Steelpunk even exist?

I don’t know if Steelpunk does exist but I’d love it if it did. Here’s what I think Steelpunk is. Is there any out there?

If so, do you have any suggestions for any books (or movies, TV shows, comics and games) that a wannabe Steelpunk fan would enjoy?

Steelpunk is any SF space adventure written in the 1940s-1950s. For juvenile, see Tom Corbett, Space Cadet, or the Heinlein juveniles. Dan Dare comics, anyone?

Steelpunk is Chrysler Corporation's Forward Look styling cycle of 1956-60: Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto, Chrysler, Imperial. With tail fins, slender roof, two-tone colours, chrome and stainless steel trimmings, spinner hub caps, whitewall tyres, tinted glass, wrap-around windshield, quad hooded headlights, push-button automatic, power windows, power seats, central locking, automatic high-beam dipper, signal-seeking radio, record-player, and - just about - air conditioning. Buy such a car and drive it!

Though deco-punk sounds interesting. I've always had a soft spot for streamlining...

Yep, I reckon the Heinlein juveniles are a big part of the reason that I have a yen for things Steelpunky. Haven't heard of Tom Corbett, Space Cadet, will check it out.
