Well, no, I don't think Sunshine will do the task entirely. It's a really interesting vampire novel, one of the better ones I've read in recent years. But there is one violent sex scene between the protagonist and the main vampire. It's consensual, but it may be the sort of thing the original poster doesn't want. Other than that scene, it would be a good fit.
