Another one for the TBR data Stack. Thanks, Mark without your review I would have given this a miss as some of the other things about it that I have run across online have given to me the feeling of a feminist screed. I don't enjoy being lectured from my pleasure reading on a subject I fully embraced 50 years ago.

My Sister graduated from MIT in the early 60s with a Masters Degree in Architecture and even with those credentials and the needed engineering license she ran into the glass ceiling even at the entry stage in the job market of the early 60s (as seen in the Mad Men TV series). She had to take a job as an architectural model maker at what was little above intern pay. A job in those pre 3d computer modeling days that was normally given to high school graduates with no more than perhaps a class or two in mechanical drawing. She spent 3 years in that dead-end job before finding work commensurate with her education and license. She stayed with That new firm for 40 years rising to be their chief Architect.

It's definitely in there Windy, but not as much as the others I've mentioned before. The women are pretty ruthless though, and not afraid to kill if it means they keep the secret, which I guess may be seen as some sort of female empowerment. Sylvain's very clever, but not intimidatingly so.

Have I mentioned there's a play list? Each of the 60 chapters is named after some music from the time set.

I actually just read the sample chapter yesterday and probably will purchase.
I thought Sleeping Giants was decent but did not feel a need to read the sequels.

Brilliant, Atramentous - very pleased you're liking it.

To be honest, with every review there's a thought - "Have I got this one right?" But in everything I try to be honest. As the review hints, it has led to some comments/reviews of books I've not liked that everyone else has loved.

But all I can try to do is be honest.
