Ok, head count time...

Err.... What, because more people happen to come from one country it's more popular? Like we have a choice where we're from, and we're competing against countries with MILLIONS more people in their population!!!

Well - perhaps when the poll is done we should aadjust the count to account for differing population sizes??

(That way the UK'll beat the US for sure :))

Juzz - it's ok, babe, you can be from wherever you like! (As well you know :D)

just noticed your edit:

The UK can't impose any laws on the Channel Islands, we still have pound notes for God Sake, you mean NOTHING to islanders!!!

Thanx a bunch!! We love you too!!

I don't mean YOU personally Sammie, you know you mean everything to me and the rest of the islanders and would be welcome to come over and sample our Jersey Bean Crock, Jersey Wonders, Awesome Ice Cream and Jersey New Potatoes.

Now, now, boys and girls, let's not be testy...

Really, it's not about winning (sorry, Sammie, I know you've got that competitive streak...) it's just a way to see how many countries and cultures we all represent. Everytime we get a new country on the list (yea! Finland!) then we're making progress.

Actually, I think it's quite refreshing that USA doesn't have a ton of votes - it really shows that our board is quite global. Clearly, as we're an English-speaking board, we're going to lean toward those countries speaking that language (or, well, sort of, in the case of the UK :p ) (or even more sort of, in the case of Texas :D ). So the fact that we have folks in places like Belgium and Finland and the Phillipines (no to mention those islands floating back and forth between England and France) who freqent our forum is a great indicator of our global reach.

Having said that... Where the hell is Gemquest??? We gotta get up past UK before those Aussies catch up to us... :p

I have an idea - how about all the admins get to vote twice.....yea yea??

UP THE CHANNEL ISLANDS!!!!

COME ON THE GREENS!!!!!!! (Where are ye all?..)

UP SMALL COUNTRIES!!!

Sammie said:

"Err.....(engaging pedantic mode)....yes the Irish WOULD - because Ireland (aka Eire) is not part of the UK - unlike Northern Ireland and the GODDAMNED CHANNEL ISLANDS!! "

..just to complicate things; for the last few years any citizen of Northern Ireland who so wishes has had the automatic right to a passport of the Republic of Ireland, Éire.... where are ye all?

Hey, when did Texas declare independence anyway? :D

*wonders what all the rush is about anyway in not being unique*

*then thinks that being unique is also being alone in this part of the world* :(

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
We've fallen behind :(

Sammie, a better idea. How bout we Brits all get to vote twice? Actually, no, that's not necessary. I know we'll win in the end :p .

Well well, Canada is in 4th place..............again.
(making a face and returning to my igloo)

That's it, I'm gonna go find everyone I've ever met and get them to register their countries!

You know - in all fairness, when this is done we SHOULD look at results adjusted for population size, as well as straight-out figures!! :)

Of course, Sammie, of course... However, you do realize that this means Juzza will probably be the big winner here? :p

*shrug*

Well if it stops him sulking......:). The whole place is sunnier when he is...

Besides, that way the Brits still beat those upstart americans :D

(i love you all, i really do!! :))

At this moment in time, I would like to add that Sammie - all-powerful, all-lovely, and general all-round good gal - represents herself and not the rest of us Brits who love the US and its ridiculously large population and armament.
