The November Flash Fiction Contest

And to think I was worrying it might be too broad or obvious!

oh. In my case I struggle every month with all the themes.... but with a little (or a lot of) effort I get something out.

As I recall there was only one month when the story came to me as an epiphany and it kind of wrote itself. It was the month when the theme was "trans-" .

And i think the broader the better. I like to see what everybody else comes up with. And if they come up with a box of chocolates it's much better ;)

Don't make me break out the leftover Halloween candy. I wouldn't want to stoop so low as to win your vote through the bottom of the bowl Kit-Kats and bite sized Snickers.

Next months theme - Rainbows. I dare you to make a dark tale out of that!

...the thought of writing comedy chills me to the bone. Scary.

I can also be bought with a nice bottle of wine or some single malt scotch whisky.... :p

rainbows, eh?????

here are some scary thoughts:

1.- a very patetic story about a guy chasing raimbows that ends up with nothing and wasting his life. this could be turned into a very sad story.
2.- actually following the rainbow and finding out that on the other side there are no leprecauns with gold to offer but something dreadfull, like a killer leprecaun? hell? another dimention?
3.- what if the rainbow is the end of a story where everything is flooded and killed and the only thing left if the rainbow? and they get to see the rainbow untill they either drown or starve to death floating around.

shall I continue???

Super,
That came way to easy to you. A future as a horror writer perhaps.
I was going to suggest Ponies but I dont want to know what could happen there.

Super,
Just out of curiosity what do you do as a day job? I am always interested in what the folks hanging arund here are into. I'm a Social Worker and provide supports to individuals with disabilities. Sorry for the off topic - just curious.

I'm in IT. I am an Informatic Engineer. I work in a retail company doing Non Comercial Purchacing and selling. I work with SAP in the MM/SD modules.

I too provide support to individual with brain disabilities, like most of the purchasing department.... :p just kidding, but we all know most of the problems are in the middle between the screen and the chair, aren't they???

Don't worry, they think of me the same way.....

I'm not sure I have any idea what you just explained to me but you sure are funny.
Happy weekend.

My entry this month is a little dark, but in recent months I've gone with light-hearted/comedic so I figured I was due a dark one.

I must try to aim for those elusive shadow lands between bleakness and frivolity, something like life itself. I've had some success when I've hit that space in previous months.

*goes off to see if there's room in his entry for kittens*

If I put kittens in my story, I don't think they'd survive. :D

I don't think I've ever heard of a recipe for any species in the feline family. Has any culture ever eaten cats, big or small?
