Watched the first two last night, thanks to yet another worthwhile heads-up from @Hobbit. I agree, it's great - and is there a touch of 'Lady Astronaut' developing?
 
First episode of The Mandalorian is out there. It looks amazing - clearly had some money spent on it. Script is OK but nothing special. There are some rather silly plot points clearly meant for a young audience but it is by no means a disaster. The fight scenes are good. Star Wars fans will love it.

Can't believe that Disney are making UK fans wait until March to see this. I suspect most fans will not and find other means of viewing. There are ways... :)

That is how I viewed it at last... the rollout of the Disney + has not been smooth today the automated log in via the cell phone worked on the iPad but not on the Apple TV where it had to fall back to the texted code method.... mandalorian was not available to stream for me till late this afternoon.

you can see the bucks on the screen. I was in grad school when the first film came out so perhaps I am not the rabid fan that this is intended for but it sure looks good. And so far a pleasant diversion.... to early to say if it has legs.

That is crazy - it encourages people to use other means...speaking of which, I watched it tonight and really liked it! Not outstanding but definitely better than average and it's great to have a fix before the next movie.

Was talking to people at work today. There was a thought that, in a weird way, it was deliberate and that it was a way to gain interest/publicity, like Game of Thrones, because many people with an interest would be forced to watch illegally.

Personally it was a bit of a stretch, but I can see their point. I think that they've made a major, major error and that people who would have paid to watch the series now won't. You would have thought that one of the biggest companies in the world could do what corporations like Netflix can do.
 
Frankly, I watch mostly illegally. I'd rather spend my limited funds on CDs and books. Ebooks and music files don't interest me, so no temptation either.

Maybe, but I guess does the extra publicity offset the lost revenue by delaying so long? You wouldn't think so..

Is it going to be? I know there have been some parts spruced up for the documentary, but I thought that, like Babylon 5, the process was seen as too expensive to do for the whole series?

Unless.... it was a ruse! :D

Watchmen is currently my favorite thing on TV! I’m wondering how it will all get wrapped up by episode nine though. I too am underwhelmed by the Veidt storyline, but the rest of it is amazing.
 
Watchmen puts all the other superhero shows and films to shame. If they manage to wrap this season up satisfactorily, and there is no reason they can't since the show is only getting better every week, and if they manage to integrate the Veidt portions in a meaningful way since they are the only major unconnected narrative strand left dangling, this could be a contender for show of the decade. It's that good.
