TV Series or Show You're Watching

Only about 20 years late, but I've finally started to enjoy Supernatural! I kept stalling on Season 1, but am now rattling through Season 2. Only another 13 or so seasons to go....

Enjoy. I know I missed some episodes over the years, but I kept going back and picking it up. Sometimes it felt a bit too self-important, and then they'd throw in an episode that undermined that. Fun series, probably closer to the spirit of Buffy than the superhero shows like Smallville that seemed to pop up as Buffy wound down.

I made it all the way through Smallville, dipped in and out of Buffy, but couldn't get on with Supernatural. My daughter did though - wonder why? :) It is settling down, though - but not sure how they got through as many seasons as they did.

How times have changed though - I managed to get the first 8 seasons, mainly on bluray, for about £15 (erm - US$20? AUS$30?) which will keep me going for a while. :)

Well, now that I've managed that, it might be worth another go at the Wheel of Time books! Never made it past Book 4 after about 4 goes.... :)
Oh Wow Hobbit , hope you love it as much as I do . One of my favourite ever shows .

The quality generally maintained throughout the full seasons is remarkable considering producers had to manage writers' strike and covid restrictions .

And the production values for a TV show always impressed me . You'll get a good mix of " monster of the week " and stories pushing forward long term arcs .

Hobbit , if you can build up momentum you'll rattle through it . Enjoy .

Thank you, ubergeek! I seem to have got second wind now - just about finished Season 2 and will keep going. I *might* give it a little break after binging one season at a time, as I find that works for me. I am pleased that everyone tells me it will get better, though. It is improving as we go, already. :)

After all, I've still got a million episodes of Supernatural to watch! :D
I really liked Supernatural overall but I think it suffered from having to top the last season every year like a lot of shows do. IMO it was at its best when it was mainly a monster a week show rather than a having to save the universe show. Still I finished it and have to say they maintained high production quality throughout.

I suspect it was the monster of the week aspect that made me turn off Season One. I can often watch such episodes without too much difficulty - erm, Kolchak, Doctor Who, XFiles, Outer Limits, even Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea! - but this one felt overly repetitive. Having said that, I'm now on a roll and currently on Season Three. :)

TV series adaptation of a thriller podcast with the same name. Not bad. The budget is low and the episodes only 20 minutes in length, but it's entertaining.

Well, the good news about watching an older TV show is that the network or streaming service can’t cancel it on you just when you got into it. I’m still salty about Raised by Wolves.

Started the 1rst season of , "A Discovery of Witches". On episode 6 now. Good show!. Only 3 seasons though, unfortunately.

I enjoyed the first season of this, but I got bogged down when season two started. I'm hoping to get over the hump and start enjoying it again.

That is somewhat what we are experiencing in Season 2. We liked the modern day story and characters, but we are less enthused with the darker 1500's time travel story / season. I usually like period pieces, but its such a large juxtaposition from the way the story started, that it is somewhat off putting.
