TV Series or Show You're Watching

Not SFF or even close, but I just watched all 3 seasons of Ozark - bar the finale episode of season 3 which I will probably watch tonight. Without a doubt one of the best serials I have ever seen with some amazing acting and genuinely emotional storytelling.
Agree it's a great series - looking forward to the final season, no news on when it will out yet that I can see...

No, just a big advert at the end of season 3 saying it is coming at some time...

Managed Season One but is currently on pause here as it is SO intense... really good but really dark.
Yes, I've been watching 2 or 3 episodes a night and after some of them I was almost worn out with the tension. I found Season 3 by far the best of all, and the better they are, the more intense! I have to admit the very last scene of season 3 was extremely satisfying

I have a loose prediction for how season 4 might play out, based purely on my own speculation.

Marty and Wendy become closer with Navaro. The rival cartel kidnap them somehow. Navaro disowns them and sends someone to kill their kids. Marty and Wendy make a deal with the rival cartel and are sent back to Navaro, who pretends to welcome them back. The kids are meanwhile in hiding with Helen's daughter. The rival cartel kill Navaro but want to keep Wendy and Marty for themselves. The kids make a plan that means their whole family + Helen's daughter are able to escape into hiding. The Snell woman and Frank Cosgrove kill the rival cartel and the Byrde family flee to Australia.

Maybe.

Haha, lots of detail there, we'll see! And what about Ruth? I'm sure she'll play a part in the finale, especially as her allegiance to the Byrde's is wavering...

Ha, I left her out as although she is probably my favourite character overall (although I am biased because she's one of my favourite actresses) I was not too sure where she'd fit in. But let's say
she changes loyalties a few times throughout but only to protect her cousin Wyatt (another great actor in a series that's full of them) and ends up turning up to live at the Byrde's place right at the end, Shawshank style!

Season 2, episode 1. Looking forward to it.

Just got that one, myself, Atramentous! :)

LATER EDIT: Not got to that one tonight, sadly. Family had other plans!!

But I will get to it... possibly tomorrow.

STARZ has a new miniseries out called " The Luminaries". Watched the 1rst episode last night. Looks interesting. Starring Eva Green, Himesh Patel & Marton Csokas. Loved Csoka's roles in as the Baron Quinn in "Into the Badlands" and as Guy de Lusignan in "Kingdom of Heaven

I'd forgotten that Captain Scarlet is actually an incarnation of Cary Grant in an alternate-future-puppet-universe: Paul Metcalfe . As fun as ever, although I note the Bluray uses the original mostly instrumental closing theme (probably more timeless) than the later one (earworm warning):

Also last night:

Bloodlands Nesbitt is always good.

Just scored a 9 dvd box set of the Ernie Kovacs show and other bits of his work for just 9.95 at the local hospital thrift shop.... and they even gave it a disinfectant wipe down ant no extra charge.... I know in the late 1950s he was considered a bit risqué but that was going a bit too far 60 odd (very odd) years later
It has one scratched disc but at $40 off of the Amazon price that is ok....
He invented many of the camera tricks in early tv production and is a very funny man.

I have mentioned in the movie threads how much I enjoy the phony sci-fi film
Our Man in Havana
where supporting actor Kovacs played against a brilliant Alec Guinness
Now I have to ask if any of you spend the $3 to rent this or the $10 to buy this film...you type a few lines about what you thought of it. I would love to talk about some of the films I toss up in these threads (the last one was Batteries not included and befor that The President's Analyst for example) perhaps they are just too old and their SSF connections to tenuous.... well not those two they are solid FSF films. But Our Man in Havana is a bit of a stretch it has Guinness rearrange the various items from his vacuum cleaner importing work into models he draws as secret Cuban space launch sites..... so while it is a fantasy of a sort it a bit of a stretch but it is so funny it deserves to be viewed

Your Honor (US) Ep 1. A remake of the Israeli TV series Kvodo (Hebrew: כבודו‎) which I'm sure is also good.
The US version has Bryan Cranston though, so should be good.

I’ve been watching the Season 2 episodes and it’s going places. The alternative history is diverging quite a bit at this point. The characters are getting interesting as well in their new roles. The jump forward ten years between seasons turns out to have been a good narrative device. Heck of a space program they’ve got going!

Have started watching The Terror, based on Dan Simmon's novel - really good so far. There's something about the cold, snow & ice plus horror that goes well together - the bleak, desolate landscape, the low chance of help if trapped, how well blood contrasts against white snow!
