TV Series or Show You're Watching

We enjoyed the first season of Emergence. Don't know if it's going to get renewed and the plots had some silly aspects, but the cast is very good.

Watched the second episode of Star Trek: Picard - really enjoying this, the pacing and progression of the plot has been well done so far.

Been watching Altered Carbon. Liked it a lot. Not all of it, but still, really well done. Looking forward to season 2. Hope Poe / Chris Conner gets to stay :)

Also watched episode 1 of The Witcher. Errr.......well.....I guess this series has been discussed on this forum and I don't know what you guys made of it, but I couldn't bear watching another episode. I seem to lack the knack for convincing myself stuff can be so godawful bad, it becomes something good.

I'm the same, didn't appeal at all.

Just in case anyone hasn't seen, the first episode of Picard is available to watch on YouTube in the US - for a limited time, I understand. (LINK)

Star Trek: Picard Episode 1 is now available to stream on regular rotation on Pluto TV Sci-Fi (CH 661). This is a free app, with commercials, but it offers another option. Not sure how long this will last...

Given up on Avenue 5. Humour can polarize opinon, I know, but annoyingly stupid characters for the sake of being annoying don't work for me. :(

I'll be watching the first episode of The Righteous Gemstones before going to bed. John Goodman!

The Righteous Gemstones. First two episodes were fun, but too early to tell.

Curb Your Enthusiasm season 10. First three episodes:

I think I'm almost done with Picard for now after episode 3. Episode 4 will make or break it for me now we've made it into space.

Some of the characters are good (Picard/ the pilot who he went to for a ship/ his old friend who's always puffing on e-cigarettes) but the general script for the others drops into expository technobabble that makes no sense to me. Take the exchange between Picard and his housekeeper after the opening credits of episode 2 as an example

What are people's opinions re: standalone episodes (there doesn't need to be a reset button- sopranos, daredevil, DS9 demonstrated this and enterprise season 4 did 3 episode arcs with cliffhangers well) vs one 10 hour long stay feature chopped into 10 parts? The shorter episodes allow lighter moments and interactions between characters which make us want to keep following them. The longer form puts more emphasis on the plot and the mystery- so far, this is one of the weaker elements of Picard IMHO

Perhaps I'm overwhelmed by sentimentallity and Picard won't stand up on repeated viewing. I was surprised by all the negative feelings (primarily at SFF Chronicles).

Now watching Curb Your Enthusiasm season 10 episode 4.
Pretttaaay good.
