TV Series or Show You're Watching

Finished Jeckyll and Hyde last night, and as I thought, there was way too much to squeeze into one episode. As a result, the last one suffered badly from everything seeming to be rushed to be tied up. They obviously hoped for/expected a second season, which did not come, and as a result the ending was extremely disappointing and not at all convincing. I won't spoil it, but I literally checked in case there was another episode still to be screened, thinking it can't end this way. There isn't, and it does.
 
Watched a great 4-part series called Kiri yesterday. About a young black kid abducted from her white foster family. Terribly dark and chilling. Written by Jack Thorne, one of my favourite screen writers (see The Fades, The Accident and other series I've not watched such as Skins, Shameless and This is England).

And I think was involved in the BBC His Dark Materials series.
 
Correct. He was chosen to write the TV serialisation of same. Hell of a writer.
 
Anyone here watched Good Omens on Amazon? It's written by Neil Gaimann (based on a Terry Pratchett series, I believe). Thoughts?

I love the acting and the aesthetic of the show. (David Tennant and Michael Sheen) The dialogue between the two protagonists is excellent and their relationship is definitely the best thing about the show - in my opinion.

But I cannot bring myself to finish it. I have realised I don't love the plot line. Everything else I am enjoying but the plot I'm not for it.
 
Been out here a while in the UK. I enjoyed it, but then I love Tennant & Sheen.

There are rumours of a Gaiman-written sequel based on the success of this series. Watch this space... :)
 
The fact that the authors of Good Omens were prominent atheists and or secular humanist icons can make their work problematic for many, and it is necessary to respect the views of those people.
 
Watching Non Uccidere (Thou Shalt Not Kill), Italian crime drama from Walter Presents. Pretty dark. Not one ongoing storyline like some, but more in the vein of the Belgian Rough Justice, where various cases are undertaken by the protag while a running subplot keeps pace with the whole series. Very impressive. Italian production.

Episode 1 last night. I shelved the original Walking Dead series somewhere in Season 4, but thought I'd give this a shot and was not disappointed. It's going to be Teens v Zombies, but there are interesting sub plots and I'll keep watching for now.

We're 10 years on from the events in Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462 and there is a stable government (but are they up to no good?) and a few safe havens.

Episode 1 - Pretty good. A (very) smart digital assistant with the ability to improve its own code gets out onto the internet. Badness happens.
 

To the Lake. Episode 1 last night - very Russian. A deadly pandemic hits Moscow and social order collapses in about three minutes.
 
Was looking at this one over the weekend. Interested to read what you think, Atramentous. Saw the 1983 movie at the pictures, so it'll be interesting to compare...
 
Been watching The Good Lord Bird - quite good so far, funny in parts too.

"The series is told from the point of view of Henry Shackleford (Joshua Caleb Johnson), a fictional enslaved boy, who is part of John Brown's (Ethan Hawke) motley crew of abolitionist soldiers during the time of Bleeding Kansas, eventually participating in the famous 1859 raid on the Army depot at Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Brown's raid failed to initiate the slave revolt he intended, but was the instigating event that started the American Civil War."
