Okay I have two things to say, one to Rhaegar, and one to Demandred. Rhaegar, I may be offended by explicit sex, but I'm not offended by violence at all, unless someone does something really nasty such as cuts somone's balls off and plays around with them. I think violence in battle and wars and fighting is perfectly acceptable. I mean, I watched the movie The Patriot for Pete's sake, and I am happy to say that none of the violence or decapitations bothered me one inkling.
Demandred, regarding what you said, well, I think you were being a bit rude don't you? I mean as long as I've been here, all the members of this board have respected my opinions, why can't you? I'm very well living in the 21st century, thank you and I'm 18 years old. I'm not offended by as many sexual scenes as you seem to think I am. I find it perfectly acceptable in fantasy books to see a man and woman kissing and embracing in bed, it doesn't even bother me if their naked, as long as it doesn't get too explicit like describing a woman's sexual organs or a man's sexual organs. I tihnk reading about their emotions is fine too, as well, as long as it doesn't get too erotic in description. I don't mind sexually suggestive parts either, those parts don't bother me one bit. The only thnig that would bother me about a couple kissing and embracing in bed would be if it were two men or two women together. I also don't like descriptions of sodomy or incest in fantasy books, neither would I care for descriptions of homosexuality. That's how I basically feel on this subject. Maybe someday I will try Martin, and skip past the bad parts, but as for now, I have tons of fantasy books I'm planning on reading other than Martin.
