What games are you playing?

I was playing Deadpool but beat it and moved on. Been playing some older games lately so Ghost Recon is nearly done and from there I will probably go back to FIFA 13

Deadpool is a lot like Arkyham Asylum, just your basic button smasher. Although it is full of dick and fart jokes with the occasional scantily clad woman making an appearance. It is true to Deadpool's insane personality but one play through and you more than likely won't be coming back.

Good to know about Deadpool, will wait for a rental or cheap pick up.

Um, been playing Game of Thrones RPG lately. I mentally braced myself for an awful mess based on reviews and am pleasantly surprised so far. Story, world and characters are strong while the gameplay definitely isn't revolutionary or great, it is serviceable to get from Point A to Point B. Not too shabby.

Saw the announcement that Dragon Age Inquisition was going to be released next year, so I decided to replay Origins and 2. Finished Origins the other day, and I enjoyed it the third time around, even if I gave too many gifts to that Crow dude

so he wouldn't turn on me this time around

and not enough to Alistair and then he wouldn't sleep with me.

Yet he'd sleep with Morrigan?

Boo to him. Though, we did get to go off into the sunset together. That was nice. Started 2 up again last night. Y'know what? I'm enjoying it a lot more the second time around. The first time I thought that it was fun, but not as good as the first. It felt too linear, but I'm playing it directly after the first one, and I don't think it's any more linear than the first one was. The only differences I'm finding are the levelling up (Yay, I can level during combat!), the fact that there's no auto attack. I actually have to mash some buttons, which is better in my honest opinion, I like mashing buttons. It makes me feel like I'm doing something. And the last thing is the whole day and night thing. Other than that, it's pretty much the same. I can also see it being a huge set up for Inquisition, and as a long time fantasy reader, let's face it, the second book of a trilogy is always heavier on the plot building than action. Since I play for the RPG aspect, I appreciate the amount of story in it.

I always felt 2 - despite its flaws - was the better game. It looked better, it played better, it sounded better. And the change from a "oh mah glob u gotta save the wurld!!!" plot to something more personal was *such* an excellent decision. I mean yeah, I don't like Isabela's costume at all. I like her, but not her costume. It's stupid. And there's a few other things I don't like, but I felt DA2 was the better game in general (plus Merrill!).

DA:I's reveal trailer was utterly terrible, though. It looked *so* generic and the animations were terrible, not to mention how creepy Varric looked.

I rather liked it. Personally, I think Varric is kinda creepy, with that exposed chest, bachelor pad in a lowtown tavern and a named crossbow. Not to mention his slicked hair. My woman sense tingles, and it says, "Creep".

It was less that and they kept his DA2 model and gave it a 'realistic' skin rather than the more stylised one from DA2. Just looked wrong.

Oblivion (with a few dozen mods).
Saints Row 3.
Carmageddon on PC with Glide emulator for 1920x1080 rendering. I tried the Android version, but it's way too hard to control with a touchscreen.
Euro Truck Simulator 2, which was surprisingly entertaining until the demo expired.

Keep trying to get back into Guild Wars 2, but I just don't have time for MMOs any more.

I gave The Bureau: X Com Declassified a shot. Played about 45 minutes before I gave up on it. The micromanaging was distracting from the game. No emotional impact like XCom Enemy Unknown when you lose a squadie.

Finished Splinter Cell Blacklist and really enjoyed that. Only need to complete the Coop portion to have the entire missions completed. I loved the return to stealth gameplay and the storyline. Left it open for more sequels which I hope they continue to do.

Saints Row IV is alright. The powers that you gain really negate any real need for cars as you are faster than any of the cars just by using super speed. I am about 10% done with the game and not sure I am going to continue with it or play it for any real duration. It has its moments but I find myself looking to do other things.

I did restart Skyrim and not sure how long I will be playing that as I always start it and then forget about it.

Just waiting for my PS4 and XBone so I can play the next gen titles. Although I am picking up GTA V and the new Batman.

I was playing SR4 until the weather got too hot here for computer games :). I like the crazy superpowers angle, but, so far, I'm not finding the missions as much fun as SR3.

Good to hear. I played about the first 30 minutes, but set it aside for GTA V when it came out. I hope to enjoy it as much as you stated here though.

I actually like the sound of not needing cars. I know that is a big aspect for most people in an open world game, but I could care less about it. I have never really enjoyed the driving mechanics in an open world game before, I feel they are too loose. If I want to drive cars, I will pop in Gran Turismo.

Same boat here. I've only started it once, but I set it aside and despite the fact that I am confident I will enjoy it, I haven't gone back. I actually own it on both PC and 360. Sad that I own it on two platforms but haven't put any real time into it.

Kudos on your choices for GTA and likely Batman. I don't expect any real changes with Batman, it will be more of the same, but it should still be solid. GTA really grabbed me, in a way it hasn't probably ever before. I enjoyed all the PS2 titles, but not quite as much as some of the real fanatics. However, GTA IV was a pretty big letdown for me. It was a decent game, but it wasn't anything near the hype that been built for it. V, however, has lived up to it all thus far (I am still only 15% into it according to the in game tracker, but I imagine it will only keep getting better). The missions are fantastic this time around and the characters are much more interesting. F*** Nico!

Well, I have beaten GTA V and now just waiting for the kinks to be worked out so that the online is working. In the meantime I am playing FIFA 14. I thought the release date was to closer to next gen launch and when it wasn't I had to go and grab it. Loving it but the defense seems to be able to strip the ball rather easily compared with FIFA 13.

I will probably be jumping back on Black Ops II in preparation for Ghost's launch. Only a little bit longer and I will probably say goodbye to the 360 (although I am keeping it).

Well I've put in some time on Ghosts, and I seem to be the only person in the world that likes Infinity Ward better than Treyarch. I hated Zombies, the wildly popular minigame, since I found it difficult and repetitive. I have enjoyed the Extinction aliens game better so far, although i admit I haven't gotten very far.

The campaign is vastly superior to the last 2 releases in my opinion. I didn't finish the campaign in the last two years because I had no clue what was going on, and the cut scenes were endless and incomprehensible. Who the hell was attacking who? Who was brainwashed? Or double brain-washed? I didn't even know what decade I was in half the time.

The story this year is a linear, simple plot in the near future. South America attacks the U.S. Done and done. Add in classic elements like brother and their father, and a rogue super agent, and it's great. I enjoyed this story a lot - the gameplay, the story, the ending, everything. Lots of vehicles, good missions, etc.

Multiplayer is good but I have a couple of objections. You seem to die faster than other CODs, and it was fast already. Now it's instant. Also, at first I though people were whiners, but I have to admit the maps are laid out kind of funny. In Domination, the center area is often way closer to one group, or not anywhere near the center of the map. The castle map is way too big - it takes a minute or more to run across. They also removed a couple of the objective based games, like Demolition, so there's a ton of just running around randomly for games like Cranked or Kill Confirmed. I do like how you can rank up your multiplayer squad playing against 'bots - really nice for casual players.

Overall, I think it's a B or a B+, with multiplayer needing the only tweaking.

50-something percent through SR4 now. Some of the missions were great, like the one where you creep around in a cardboard box stabbing evil minions in the back, but too many are basically 'go and play this minigame again'.

I also tried Batman: Arkham Asylum when it was cheap on Steam, but, while it has it's moments, it's very linear with too many tedious boss fights for my taste.

I agree, but try Arkham City, it fixes every problem with Arkham Asylum and is one of my all time favorite games.

Woke up early this morning only to realize that tonight is the midnight release of the Xbox One. Not sure how this slipped my mind. I have mine preordered and paid for. I also have just about every game paid for as well. I will be picking up COD: Ghost, Assassins Creed IV, Battlefield 4, Need For Speed: Rivals, Forza 5, FIFA 14, Ryse: Sons of Rome and Dead Rising 3.

I have a few more games already paid for and preordered by they won't be out until early 2014. Guess I need to figure out what to play first.

Picked up my X1 last night. It is a pretty looking thing. I haven't had a chance to open up all my games but I have had a chance to play Forza, Ryse and Need For Speed Rivals. All of them are great. The graphics are definitely an improvement. My one gripe is that not all the games have their DLC on a QR code card, which the X1 looks at and then downloads. Finding the "use a code" tile on the dashboard is a pain and you should be able to pin the tile but you can't.

Still have several games to try out but not enough hours in the day. I would attach a photo of my haul but sadly I don't know how.

I am currently going through my PS3 library and beating all of the games I never got around to playing or beating.

But I still find myself going back to Borderlands 2 for some reason. I find the gameplay just as fun and addicting as it was when I first got it on release day.

Borderlands 2 is one of the very few games I played through end to end twice. Even other all time favorites with tons of replayability like Skyrim, Arkham City, Uncharted 2, and Infamous didn't get me to play them through twice, but Borderlands 2 did. The ease of play is one feature that makes me inclined to pick it up - it would take me an hour to remember how to control Skyrim, but Borderlands is point and shoot with an awesome upgrade system.

Been struggling through State of Decay, which is the frustrating kind of game that could have been great but ended up mediocre. It's the best game I've played so far for simulating the idea of struggling through a world full of zombies, but it's insanely repetitive ('Go clear out a horde of zombies... AGAIN. Go collect food... AGAIN. Joe-Bob is missing, go find him... AGAIN (and he's in the same garage all the other missing characters seem to end up in). Jane is sad, go kill zombies with her... AGAIN'), and it steals most of your resources (and may well kill some of your characters) if you don't play for a day.

I've moved to the main town, and not sure whether I can be bothered to go on any further. The game actually manages to make killing zombies boring.

Before making the next gen switch, I was playing COD Ghosts. Now that I am on the new console I tend to play Assassin's Creed 4, FIFA 14 and Forza 5. I have most of the games I want through Sept of next year pre-ordered and paid for but nothing really looks all that interesting except The Division.

I did pick up Football Manager 14 today through the Steam Store Winter Sale today.
