What made you mad? *SPOILERS POSSIBLE*

Breaking Ned's leg?

Off Topic: Why do they call "Eddard" "Ned" I can't see much of a connection. Eddy would fit better.

So is his REAL name Edward, and his nickname Eddard, and his nickname's nickname Ned?

Just kidding, thanks for the info.

Remember, Jaime and friends confronted Ned outside a brothel, Ned's horse fell on him and broke his leg, and Ned's leg remainde broken as things went from bad to worse for him (imprisonment, king joffrey's justice, etc!).

I wouldn't mind GRRM breaking Ned's Leg, it's just scars of life on the wilder side. But chopping of his head isn't that a little bit more serious. Big deal with one leg :D

LOL. You've certainly got a point there :). But if we start going into the major plot points ( I mean, the really major ones)... Oi... You might not want to open up that can of worms. Then I'd have to start, over and above everything else, with Tyrion's... well, entire life! Especially what was done to him and his wife... Grrrr!! Oh, and the way Dany started to get snobbish and all high-and-mighty, esp toward the end (or was it just me? ... i could be wrong). And....

ahh...somebody, stop me!

Yeah, Dany started to be a bit snobbish, but it was so late in the book that I didn't really get a grip of it, does her personality start to change, she is getting more mature? Or was it just one little scene, what picture did you get kseniya?

Yeah she did get a little snobbish but then again she IS a Princess. Tyrions life is a little bit of a shambles but he does make great things out of all the bad well stuff that happens to him

Yeah, Tyrion really is a survivor type of man!
He has survived captivity and certain death three times, and even if he is a dwarf he has survived a few battles!

I think he will be the only character to survive the series.

Well, maybe Jon and Dany.

no, no, it's GRRM were talking about he'll propably just leave a stone saying R.I.P.

But who puts the stone there?
The Others ? :)

Or is it the old people of the weirwood who will claim back their country?

Would be an even better one if the Old People from the weirwoods took over :D

The problem is that almost all the weirwood have been chopped down and burnt :(

And with the red lady around I'd expect that the burning doesn't stop any time soon.

From that we can draw one conclusion, the Series doesn't end in snow blowing over the graves of the last men, but it is ash blowing around, knee deep :)

I find the dislike of Cat to be a bit mystifying to be honest. Most of it seems to hinge on her treatment of Jon. But it has to be remembered that we are talking about her treatment of a bastard in the world of ASOIAF. This is not our world. In Martin's world bastards are believed to have many inherently bad traits. They are dishonest, treacherous etc. Due to this many Nobles will not even acknowledge their bastards and only Ned (as far as we know) keeps his in his household. (ignoring for the moment the 99% likelihood that Jon is not his as we are talking from Cat's viewpoint).
We know that Cersei actively sought to murder all Robert's bastards.

In this context is Cat's treatment of Jon so bad or hard to understand by the standards of Westeros? Apart from the one isolated incident of Jon visiting Bran after his fall (at which time Cat was under tremendous stress and worry) her treatment of Jon seems no more than that of a mother trying to ensure that her children are in the prime position. Given that bastards are a threat to the legitimate heirs this is easy to understand. Moreover Jon is a constant reminder of her husbands infidelity and he will not even tell her who the mother is.

I see no problems with Cat's treatment of Jon. The real person at fault is Ned. He should not expect to present his wife with a bastard to bring up with no explanations or anything. And yet people like to present Ned as a near saint.

And I understand the dislike of Sansa even less. She is an innocent child at the beginning of the books. Brought up to believe that her sole aim in life was to marry another lord and give him heirs. To me her story is perhaps the most poignant record of lost innocence in the book. One by one everything she has been brought up to believe in and trust in has been destroyed. I for one am very interested to see where her tale goes next.

I partly take your point with Cat, but Sansa is whole other story.

If Sansa is such an innocent little girl, how come she was one of the first to lie in front of the king her father and most importantly her sister. It is that kind of betrayals that make you hate her from the bottom of your heart

And besides innosence is no excuse for being dumb!

And then back to Cat, why put the blaime on Ned, how could he have told her if he really is the son of a hated king! If he so much as whispers that to another it increases the risk that Jons past will be revealed and as a result of that there is a big chance that he will be killed!
