Q: Can you tell us a bit about your books?
A: My novel are actions packed with the reader directly involved. In, The Ultimate Dragon, Matthew Wolverine travels back 1,000 to Scotland to meet the Loch Ness Monster. She has an attitude and is a single mom. Matthew discovers mental telepathy with the monsters and he rides on her back as they fight dragons and rescue beautiful maidens. The reader feels their arms around the neck of the monster as her powerful fins jet them through the water, the cold spray stings your face, as your stomach churns like a coaster plunging down that first big dip. The dragons are vicious and they eat humans as sacrifices. Will they continue to rule Scotland?
In the next novel, Loch Ness Monsters in Atlantis? Matthew Wolverine travels to the undersea world of Atlantis. For 10,000 years the fascination of Atlantis has haunted mankind. See the white marble builds that shone 10 miles out to sea. Beacons that guided ships home. A hundred foot naked gold statute of O, who’s open arms welcomed sailors into a safe harbor. Q: What do you see as the main theme for this series?
A: You have a good clean-cut hero that knows right from wrong and is not afraid to take a stand. The villains see mankind as food. They have one goal and that is the total subjugation of humans. The reader will feel the heat of the fire of the dragons as it tries to burn them alive. With only swords and arrows you fight with all your strength to defeat this death machine.
Q: What do you see as the most challenging aspects of writing a novel?
A: Putting the reader’s mind into every scene of the novel. In one scene, Eric is fighting a Kraken (giant squid). One tentacle rises up out of the water and Eric’s blood runs cold as the tentacle descends upon him. He slashes at the tentacle with his sword but to no avail as the tentacle wraps around him and he is dragged into the icy waters of the North Sea. His skin covers with goose bumps from the water and fear as he descends down into the dark depths. Matthew Wolverine dives into the water with sword in hand to rescue his friend. Can you feel the icy water and the fear of fighting a giant squid?
Q: What is your purpose of writing?
A: My purpose is to entertain the reader with good role models and cause them to have sweet dreams. George Lucas in Star Wars inspired me to write. He puts out great movies that entertain hundreds of millions of people. I look forward to the day that George will produce my novels into great movies.
Second, I encourage all future writers to purchase a copy of my novel, read it then put it in your bathroom as a visual aid. It took me ten years to write, The Ultimate Dragon, so every day you say to yourself, “If, I spend just ten minutes a day on the computer writing my novel I will have my novel done before Daniel Jason had his novel done.” The hardest part of writing is getting time on the computer. This visual aid in your bathroom simulates you to get on the computer and finish your manuscript. I want my novels to encourage 10,000 other writers to finish their manuscripts. I did it and I know you can.
Q: What plans do you have for the future?
A: I want to incorporate then bring on at least three employees to produce five star novels. Then I will be looking to take on at least one to two new authors in fantasy and children’s stories each year. There are so many great writers that New York will never publish. A small publisher like Time Dancer Press can make at least a few dreams come true.
Q: When you’re not writing, what do you like to do to relax?
A: I run with my golden retriever, Casanova. He is a great dog and inspires many of the animal scenes in my novel. I also like to slow romantic dance with a beautiful woman.
Q: What has the Internet meant to you as an author?
A: The Internet lets my fans read the first chapter of my novel on www.danieljason.com I like that because the reader can see what they are buying. They can buy on a secure line with PayPals and I can give them special offers that I can’t give them in book stores. Casanova has been bugging me to put his stories on line and I did. I narrate with Casanova directing. He suggested that with the purchase of two novels, I give away a Casanova T-Shirt. He wears sunglasses and a big smile (he thinks he is rich dog at the top of the hill). He is giving other puppies advice on how to have a great life.
