Exclusive Extract from Behind the Sofa

DrWhoHere at SFFWorld we’re celebrating the 50th anniversary later this week of the world’s longest-running TV programme, Doctor Who, on 23rd November 1963.

To share our celebration, here’s an exclusive extract from Behind the Sofa: Celebrity Memories of Dr Who, edited by Steve Berry.

Behind the Sofa is published in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK after the book’s editor witnessed the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s on his mother. It is a book about memories of Doctor Who from former stars of the show, writers as well as celebrities; Jonathan Ross, Al Murray, Neil Gaiman and many more. The book was selected as one of the 10 best books of 2013 on Amazon!! (We reviewed it here, too.)

Nev Fountain is a writer of comedy for the BBC (including the series Dead Ringers) and has written several audio dramas for the Doctor Who programme.

Behind the Sofa: Celebrity Memories of Dr Who, edited by Steve Berry is out now, Gollancz, £9.99 (author royalties are donated to Alzheimer’s Research UK)
