Hulk

Pluvious…
Hum.. I have read your comments. I could see where you might consider me being childish, but alas that is all I do around here. SaintJon will consider anything less than a jibe or wisecrack from me to be a major insult to his person. In the way of default I would insult him by not insulting him. It is hard to explain, but he understands. Then there is kilroy, the unknown identity who steals an American comic icon from the 1940’s and loudly proclaims Canadian pride. Oh I just loved that one. ;) I do believe that if you have followed the thread after my posts that you will find both of the esteemed victims of my less than intellectual assault have recovered very nicely. But in all seriousness my words were never mean spirited or meant as anything but a joke and I believe that it is plainly evident that they both took it that way as well. Although I apologize if my written verbiage did offend you.

See even Canadians can take a joke, sure you might have to repeat it several times but they will eventually get it! ;)

Maybe its something with us intellectually evolved Canadian individuals that lets us properly apreciate the brilliance of such films. That's got to be it.

ok. :)

Didn't mean anyone specific really...just thought there was a bit too much "personal" targeting. No big deal...

meh.

It's not the first time someone's suggested I was on crazy drugs.

...and been wrong, but it kind of makes you wonder about yourself from time to time.

As the is called hulk i find it appropriate to ask the question;
why are there so many films being made about comic strips?
are they running out of ideas?
they should have at least spread them out a bit more rather than having a frenzy!

I think it just really became popular, on the wave of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. The CG technology is now good enough for pretty much anything, so it's finally worth trying I guess...

Better than that frenzy of Natural Disaster CG movies!
(Armaggedon, Twister, Tornado, Volcano, Deep Impact, The Core, etc etc etc etc)

I think its more the case that its simply the most profitable type of film to make at present, X-Men arguably started it off for the 'big' comic books which had not only a tight script but good casting, Hugh Jackman anyone?, and a director who didn't take it into the bounds of Batman and Robin lunancy but grounded it as much as possible in reality. Blade had already been and shown that even lesser characters with the right look, script and actors could be exceptionally well done and then Marvel made huge box office with Spiderman and probably kick started this current slew more than both the other two films combined. So inevitably we got X2, Daredevil & Hulk and will soon have forced upon us Hellboy, LXG, Catwoman, possibly new Batman and Superman films, along with a third Blade, a second Spiderman and more than likely a third X-Men film. And these are only the big ones we know about. Its a trend just like the 80's had big-muscled action movies, the 90's arguably was a mix of comedy and clever noir - the 00's get comic books.

I heard talk of a Ghost Rider film being made.
The good news was the screen play was going to be written by the same guy who did the Blade films as he likes his heroes dark.
The bad news is that they are apparently aiming it the cert 12a market.
Guess it won't be as dark as I'd like it, but then the first Batman was a 12 so it might still be decent enough for an adult audience.

Yeah i think its very cool even though its a rush however this seems to skimp on quality slightly i mean the next spider man villan is doc-oc wich is okay but isnt it similar to the previous story line ie-mad scientist goes nuts and attacks new york etc.....
Why could they not have venom.
I also agree that ghost rider should be darker it'd be a shame to waste a kick license.

Well, x-men rule so they can keep on doing those films!!

Excuse me, but isn’t that the receipt for a good 99.9% of the comics written?

Besides, Venom is not into the villian gig anymore, he has moved on to something else...

You are a genius without peer m8 :D I'd forgotten all about that thread which is a pity as its the most original one on here in forever, I will go there post haste. Before I go I have to agree with Chukkelz - something different should have been tried.

Let's not forget about all the live-action conversions they're planning for anime movies (which will be mostly crappy IMO).

I mean, I fail to see the appeal of a live-action Akira flick. I SERIOUSLY doubt that the director would have anywhere near as strong a sense of visual power as Otomo does.

And DBZ? how retarded are real-life actors gonna look with hair like that?

I saw 'The Hulk' on Saturday and really enjoyed it.

I was expecting the CGI to suck but it was quite entertaining. I like the fact he gets even bigger the madder he gets LOL.

Let's face it, it's a comic book conversion, so it's hardly gonna be a cerebral, plot twisting thriller. It's about escapism right.

I liked it better than Spiderman, but not as much as XMEN or X2.

I have Daredevil on DVD waiting to be watched tonight.

BRING ON 'LOBO: THE MOVIE'

juzza... U liked the hulk?

Well that answers the question of what is in that pipe you are smoking....:D

I thought the Hulk was the most cerbral of the comic book movies so far.

Juzza, are you a closet Canadian. If you aren't, I aplaud your parents abilities to raise an intellectual evolved individual, evolved enough to enjoy this movie.

And to the person that commented about how stupid it was that the Hulk could jump so high (I can't find you to quote you), I have a few questions for you then
-How high can you jump?
-How far can you throw a Tank?
and for comparison
-How far can the Hulk throw a Tank?
-by comparison how high should he be able to jump?

Think about it.
