The Hulk

Did anyone catch the superbowl trailer for this? I'm not sure on 30 seconds viewing but I think this cgi stuff is getting out of hand.

Only on the news , and I definately agree with your assessment on cgi kater . While we're at it the fight scene for the Matrix 2 that was shown was cgi , it just does not grab my interest at all now ! :(

I think I'll go see it just for the fact that Jennifer Connelly is in it :D

Yeah I will aswell even though she's married now :( I didn't mind the Matrix stuff so much because it at least looks half decent where as the Hulk just looked like a cartoon: for those interested the trailer is on www.apple.com/trailers under superbowl slots.

Yeah but as a kid I LOVED the Hulk and DD... So I'm actually eagerly awaiting both...

Solaar
*sniff* loves what he loves

Come on now this is the HULK we are talking about!!! Big giant green mas that smashes stuff! Sure he would look like a cartoon, he's the HULK after all!!!! :D :D I was treated to a pretty good movie in Spiderman, I somehow doubt that Marvel will let this movie become a giant chunk of crud.

must agree with Solaar,
Ogg "loves what he loves" :D

Thanks Ogg! (the mod).

See, me and the Oggster are both coming from the same place (I think). The Hulk was a mainstay of our childhood and I - for one - can't wait for the film.

I've been waiting years.

Now, someone tell me who can match the size and bulk of the Hulk WITHOUT cgi.

Anyone?

Anyone?

No. No one can.

This guy needs cgi.

Solaar
trust me, sometimes I'm really right...

The Hulk did look sorta cartoony, but I can see past that if all the action is as good as that shown on the trailer i.e. swinging a tank around and throwing it really far, looked very cool

Caught a glimpse and at first I thought it was Shrek II: Revenge of the 'roids...

There actually is an earlier HULK movie. It was a body builder, name escapes me at the moment. He was absolutely HUGE! And the movie was quite good, especially by that era's standards.

Still, can't wait to see THE HULK. This movie is gonna rule!

And I still want to see Dare Devil, even though they cast that no talent dumb@$$ Ben Affleck as Dare Devil! How DARE THEY!

Oh well, still gonna see it.

"Big sigh"

LMAO Keg, nice one m8

The bodybuilder, Se'dray-on was Lou Ferringo who, but for some brilliant pyschology, would have usurped Arnie as Mr Olympia. And I enjoyed the HUlk comics as much as anyone but that tank bit just made me lmao, I think it'll be a dud though I hope not.

Lou Ferigno, who is a really great guy if you ever get the chance to meet him. Much better than Peter Mayhew, who is a complete ass.

We'll see. They can do it well, or it can come off really badly, I don't think there's any middle ground on this one. I've never been much of a Hulk fan really. The Incredible Hulk TV series was very cheesy and a one-trick pony ("Oh look, let's see how long it takes to piss off Banner!") and the comic... well, bored me to death. I just hope it's a good story.

What will make it even more interesting is that "Hulk" is being directed by Ang Lee. His last movie was "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", and before that he directed a time piece movie, based on a Jane Austen novel, with Hugh Grant, Kate Winslet, Alan Rickman, and Emma Thompson called "Sense and Sensibility"
So it will quite a different departure for Ang Lee. I'm not sure what to expect, however I will be there in line on opening day. That's what I do. Oh yeah and drink beer.

So that's why it's been so friggin windy over here in Ottawa. Couldn't you have sighed northward or something?

I'll probably go see the Hulk with my buddy Ramz. The guy's a huge Hulk fan, and even if the movie isn't that great (I think it will be good with Ang Lee at the helm though) it will be fun just to see how he likes it.

It will be fun just as long as he buys the popcorn and cokes, right SJ ;)

Like a couple of others have said, the ony way to make THE HULK the 7 - 8 foot 500 monster from the comics is to use CGI. Though few do know that the Hulk was originally grey.

At one time, there were rumors that Banner was attacked by radioactive poodles which gave him the gamma radiation, but thankfully that has been squelched.

Does anybody remember the words to the them song from old '80s HULK cartoon that was on right after Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends?

I'm afraid Fitz there are supposed to be radioactive dogs in the final cut of the film.

All I remember is "Meet Bruce Bannor, hammered by Gamma rays..."

I have a friend who sings this little ditty all the time, causing me to respond with the Spidey theme.

Radioactive dogs I don't mind, but please don't let Banner become the HULK by poodle attack. Pit-bulls or Rotweillers maybe but friggin poodles?

Meet Bruce Bannor, hammered by Gamma rays...
Turns into the HULK, HULK HULK-ITY HULK!"

That could be a stretch, though.
