I Just Bought (DVD)

I picked up Ong-Bak The Thai Warrior and found that it didn't just kick ass, it pulverizes them. I'm looking forward to a long career for Tony Jaa now if all his movies are this good.

Yeah.. I was quite amazed by the stunts, as he did them all himself without any special effects..

After seeing 'A Tale of Two Sisters', I picked up 'A Bittersweet Life' by the same director (Ji-woon Kim).. I really enjoyed this movie, it had a lot of style..

I just broke down and picked up the complete 4 season DVD set of Jeeves & Wooster. I had a couple of seasons on VHS before I moved, but only one tape came out the other end so to speak.

I also got Crash which I saw in the theatre and it was very good.

I picked up Finding Forrester, with Sean Connery. I saw part of it on TV and it looked good, so I got the DVD on sale to see the rest.

I am ordering some too. :)

Can it be true? No one has bought a DVD in 7 days? ;)

I just picked up He-Man: Masters of the Universe (The 10 Best Epsiodes) and am about to watch it. I know, some say it's lame that they only gave 10 episodes, but apparently the full seasons are coming out in a couple months. This set (only $20) is for people that don't necessarily want to spend a lot of money collecting all 100+ episodes.

I hope the 10 episodes really are the best... they were picked by an online vote, rather than by the producers.

Picked up the first season of Oz. Looking forward to watching it. I've heard some good things about it.

The DVDs I picked up recently:

The Terminal
Alien
Aliens, Special Edition
Welcome to Mooseport
Laws of Attraction
Secondhand Lions
Mystic River
The Human Stain

I love the new scenes in Aliens: Special Edition.

Cool to know there are new scenes (Aliens). I haven't watched the DVD yet, though I have seen the movie many times.

Secondhand Lions is a really fun movie.

Millenium Season 3
Lost Season 1

Happy :D

Millenium is one of my all time favorite series. I heard Lance Henricksen talk a few weeks past and he said that he's interested in doing a movie about Frank Black if he can get anyone interested in it. I think it would be really cool. Especially if Chris Carter would be involved.

He talks about that in a "Making of Season 3" documentaries that is on the last disc of the set. Who can blame him-it's his best role. It's unlikely that he'll get another one that plays so incredibly well to his strengths as a performer.
I didn't like the XFiles movie at all,so if it were only as good as that, I'd prefer not to see it made.Especially if it were anything like the Millenium ep of the XFiles with ZOMBIES- you remember all those zombies on Millennium...
That ep is included in this set, BTW...

I suspect, an end of the millenium themed movie would be regarded as passe today. Old news. We're still here. Not to be a bummer, to you, or to Lance.

But the show is one of my all time favorites as well. :D

Just got Lost Season 1 on DVD as well. Hoping to make as much time as possible for viewing it this weekend. :)

Picked up Scrubs Season 2 and Saw.
I hadn't seen Saw, and bought it based on a friends rec. It was better than I was expecting.

And Scrubs, well, I think it has to be one of my favourite sitcoms. I love the writing.

Picked up 2 new releases yesterday, and wow it was on the pricey side.. but worth it:

Batman Begins (2 disc version). Awesome. Comes with a beautiful comic book inside! And I watched it last night, I was reminded again of how good this movie is. Definitely one of my favorite comic book adaptations (up there with Sin City, Hulk, Hellboy, Xmen).

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Season 1, Volume 1 - First of 4 eventual sets that will come out (2 parts for each season). The set is 6 discs! The craziest thing about He Man is that each season had 66 episodes... it was on basically 5 days a week. Anyway, the DVD looks great, the episodes are so great: rather poor animation, but excellent stories, IMO unsurpassed in cartoons. The little moral lessons at the end of each episode are rather touching, and the characters are so great (Skeletor, Orco, etc.). And the packaging...beautiful! You can tell they put a lot of love into these...I'd say they might have the best packaging after the LOTR Extended DVDs! That's saying a lot.

Picked up Citizen Ruth used/cheap. The only Alexander Payne film I've yet to see.
I liked all the others-Election, About Schmidt, Sideways...

Just bought Battlestar Galactica season 1, and glad I didn't buy the miniseries on dvd because its included in the set.
Also Batman Begins this ones a blind purchase so I'm hoping the reviews won't let me down.
Also bought the excellent Layer Cake.

Yep, I also bought the BSG season box set. I also need to get Batman Begins and Sin City.
