Actually, New Mexico, the forgotten state, the red-headed step child of the USA (Just north of the border.) That was quick, are you sure we're not in the same time zone? Oh, and um. . . No comprende nada, yo estupido gringo. Mi esposa hace muy espanol. (On the other hand, there are those who will think I just insulted you).

haha!! I didn´t see the word NEW, lol!
At least i saw you didn´t insult me. About the time zone thing, it´s probably because i should be going to bed already, but i don´t want to. So it´s late over here, probably daytime over there.
BTW, i keep getting e-mails telling me someone responded to my message, how do i turn that of? it´s annoying.

Hi, all. This is my first day here and after the exploring I've done so far, I can see I'm going to pick up some very good reading recommendations.

Welcome to the forum Serq. Where in Canada are you from? We have quite a few Canadians on board here (myself included.) :)

Well welcome to the board Serq the Canuck and jump on in and give us a what you think and what you like. Have fun!

Thank you, Miriamele and Priestvyrce.

I'm in Calgary, Miriamele. Always glad to meet a fellow Canadian. :)

I think I'm going to quite like it here. This afternoon I was reading through the Make Outrageous Claims About Each Other thread in the Playroom, and was laughing so hard, my co-workers came to find out what was going on.

Smart and funny people here. What could be better than that?

Only thing better would be for you to jump in and join our fun! Welcome, Serq.

Hi!

Hi!

My name is Donna or NymphQueen...which ever you want to call me by. I'm 19 years old and besides for a full time job as a floral designer, writing is my life. I mainly write fantasy and science fiction and have several stories going at once. :o

My favorite movies are LOTR: Return of the King and Stargate and my favorite tv show is Stargate SG-1. :D My favorite writers are C.S. Lewis and H.G. Wells, both of them were very talented writers. I admire how much detail and emotion they both put in to their work.

I'll be posting some of my stories here and I've already been doing some reading of other memeber's. Everyone here is so talented. :)

For now,
NymphQueen

Nymphqueen, another Stargate SG-1 fan is always especially welcome, as far as I am concerned.
Lovely to meet you, my dear. :o

Heya all!

Have generally only been a browser but I thought it was about time I committed to something and joined. :) Plus kater encouraged me.

Anyway I am a 29year old ex-student of many disciplines, who has a serious book addiction and need loads of recommendations too feed my habit! I work in a bookshop and when I am not working or reading I am writing.
My favourite authors are Guy Gavriel Kay, Garth Nix, Philip Pullman and James Barclay.

So *waving madly* HELLO!!! :) :)

Welcome Butterfly, may you enjoy the forum as much as the rest of us. (are you looking forward to the big 3 0? I'm 29 too!). Have fun!

And a waving madly back at you, Madame Butterfly. I love Garth Nix and quite enjoyed Philip Pullman's Her Dark Materials. Ever read any C J Cherryh or C S Friedman?

Hi, I was a trajectory analyst and celestial mechanic for the USAF, and I know how to calculate transfer orbits. I've since been laid off, but I still know how to treat orbits mathematically. I can provide a simple tutorial on the subject, but I don't know where the best place would be. Possibly somebody would be interested in using the real math as part of the hidden background of his (or her) story.

Heinlein really did the math for The Rolling Stone's transfer orbit from Earth to Mars. (See book: THE ROLLING STONES.) As far as I know, he never told anybody he did it, but someone who knows how it is done can figure out that it was done.
