MM, thanks for the welcome, but I'm new to the board. Unless I got some total recall thing going, and I've actually been here before....

Hello from Down Under

Hello all,
Thought I'd introduce my Self. I'm from Sydney, Australia, and fantasy is my genre of choice. Favourites include, Tolkien, Martin, Feist, Eddings (early material), Weis & Hickman, Jordan, Erikson, Kay and more. Anything else you want to know, please ask, or just say hello!

Hi folks

Its great to be here. Whats also great is that if one of us was to die just after we'd written a message, no one here would care! I find that just grand. Thats what real life should be like. Emotionless and dead. Like rocks. I wish I was a rock.

Hiya

Hi all, been a lurker on these boards for about 4 years, figure I will introduce myself before I disappear in the shadows again. I have been a reader of fantasy and SF for most of my life, probally close to 30 years now.

Why thank you Snake! Good to be here. Is it cold season in Canada at the moment?

Hello, I'm new to these forums, having already scattered around a few responses to subjects that interested me.

I'm a native Californian, I've been reading fantasy and sf for more years than I care to admit being on this earth. Lately, it's been much more heavily tilted toward fantasy. My favorite authors include Tolkien, LeGuin, Patricia McKillip, C. J. Cherryh, and Tanith Lee -- also older fantasy by authors who don't get much attention these days, like Mervyn Peake, E.R. Eddison, Hope Mirrlees, Joy Chant, etc. I'm a fossil, but there's still some life left in me, I hope. I have four grown children, two dogs, a grand-dog, and a bird named Peregrine Took.

Previous jobs include the mundane (telephone operator, receptionist, retail associate) and the exotic (fortuneteller). Now I write. I had a fantasy novel (the first of a trilogy) published in October.

Hi Madeline, welcome to SFFWorld. Congrats on getting published ^_^ the goal of so many here. Hope you like us!

Thank You All

I just wanted to Thank everyone who has helped me with my project, as the due date draws near and I finish up, if anyone would like to see my finished slide show please feel free to let me know, i'd love to foward it to anyone who wants to see it. It is a power point. Thanks again, some of you were a great help! :)

Thanks, Expendable. Although, for these first few months at least, being published doesn't feel any different from being unpublished. (Finding out you're going to be published is a lot more exciting than the actual thing when it happens.)

Well this is a bit late... seeing as i've already made 45 posts :D ... meh. Anyhoo i hail from Bli Bli in Australia (BTW pronounced B-lie b-lie, NOT Blee Blee :D ), i'm a complete fantasy freak, don't like SF all that much, but i dabble. I too write occasionaly, but i doubt i'll ever be published, i'm not mean enough to my characters ;) , i like them too much :D ....and we all know that doesn't make for a very interesting story. I'm currently finishing yr 12 and hope to go onto Uni and get my degree in Photojournalism  ahhhh the dreams of the hopeful. Right now i'm waiting impatiently waiting for July 16th and May of 2006, and this helps pass the time.
OH and hi to all my fellow SF/ Fantasy freaks at SFF world... i love this place sigh
i also need a life

~13 days!~

Chad

Hello, my name is Chad and I recently discovered this site while looking for a place to plug this 'sci-fi and poetry' book I wrote.

PAST THE POINT OF DELIRIUM...a collection of science fiction stories and poems from the mind of a formerly teenaged eccentric...NOW AVAILABLE wherever fine books are sold on the Internet ONLY. The official website is www.dahcstudios.com.

I am 26 years old and I love science fiction and comic books. Spider-Man is my favorite.

Hi Gemini, Delirium Author,

Welcome to SFFWorld. I hope you both like it here.

I'm sorry you don't like SF all that much Gemini.

Your book looks different, Delirium.

my book is different

My book IS different. Quite different. Too much of the same old crap out there. I hope 'different' is a way of saying 'original'. :D

Greetings all! This is only a few months late but what the hell, I need praise to satisfy my ego. Actually, I'm just looking for more posts ;) . Hmm, I'm in my last few months of high school (I HATE it here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) but June's almost upon me. I want to move to England and be a blacksmith (yay!) but I'm looking at technological design as a boring but financially supportive career (for now, anyway). I wanna get published :( , but of course, I have to write something first. I like to put marshmallows in/on a lot of stuff. Yep, that's me.

Hi Folks!

I've just noticed this thread so thought I'd say hello. I'm Mark & I'm currently studying Accountancy in Glasgow, Scotland. I dunno why though because I actually want to write Fantasy Novels. The first of which I'm going to start over the summer!
